just watched Iron Man:

its pretty damn good. not as good as begins because it rushes the ending (which is hard to do for a movie thats 2hrs+).

as a origins movie it works really well because it handles the story like begins did. but when it gets into the 2nd act the movie sort of falls into the typical rushed epic fight storyline which really is not that epic. the main villain is set up to be a surprise but you can see it coming a mile away and is done rather cheesy.

paltrow looked amazing though. i always thought she was pretty but she came off really well in this movie.

also amazing was seeing the new dark knight trailer before the movie. actually my theater had some really good trailers attached to it:

indiana jones, the new hulk (cool trailer but the movie will most likely suck), the spirit, and the dark knight.

of course the worst trailer was for the new mike meyers movie the guru yet it received the best reaction from the crowd. idiots.

im not sure how it works because i believed a studio dictated which trailer was to play or not to play but apparently thats not true. i was pleasantly surprised to see the dark knight trailer.

i know it might be corny but it was pretty cool to see the whole crowd shut up when the batman trailer started....

Saw Mr. Brooks last night. Despite some hurried and nonsensical plot points is wasn't horrible. I've always thought that Costner can't really act but his robotic acting method worked well for this movie. 2.5 of 5. Middle of the road.

Watched The Invasion last night. There were a couple of scenes where Nicole Kidman looked out of this world hot. And then there was the rest of the movie where she looked like she had slept on a bed of cue balls. Anyway, it wasn't a complete waste of time if you ignored the 'science' behind the invasion and the ridiculous flaming-car escape scene. 2/5.

I just finished watching Sid and Nancy.

Love that movie

Not to ride you jock again SD, but I didn't really like that movie.

The Nancy character was so irritating that I could barely watch it. From what I understand, this is pretty true to life, but I couldn't stand it.
I liked the early part of the movie, and the shot of them kissing in the alley with the garbage falling, but the movie overall I didn't enjoy very much.

Yeah Nancy's role was awful, but I thought that actually added a little to the movie. Understandable that someone would find it unbearable though.
