I don't think Roy will get dealt though. I do think Chad will, however.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Pretty much.

Chances the Bengals trade CJ = 100%

Chances the Eagles do what it takes to get him = 0

And thus, the chances that rjs' dog has a hole kicked in him this weekend=100%

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

QuoteIf the Eagles aren't the busiest team in the league this weekend trade wise and somehow end up drafting 10 or more players I'm going to kick a hole in my dog.

Check your technique, hippy.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports what we've been hearing for weeks — the Cincinnati Bengals will not trade receiver Chad Johnson.

"No matter the offer," Schefter says.  "No matter the circumstances.  No deal."

Last week, Johnson said that he wants to be traded before the draft.  Or after it.

He won't be.  Before, during, or after.

The Bengals are proving a point here.  Operating under a CBA that no longer permits them to use or enforce the "loyalty clause," Johnson's gross display of disloyalty means that the team will stick it to him whenever and wherever it can.

Basically, Ocho Stinko is caught in Quicko Sando.  The more he tries to get out of it, the deeper he sinks.

QuoteLIONS REITERATE ROY WON'T BE TRADED
Posted by Mike Florio on April 21, 2008, 7:45 p.m.

We've picked up some more information about those rumors on GCobb.com that the Philadelphia Eagles will make a move this week for Lions receiver Roy Williams.

The Eagles-based web site says that the Eagles, Cowboys, and taterskins are in the hunt for Williams.

On Monday, however, coach Rod Marinelli and CEO Matt Millen again said that Williams, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, will not be traded.

As we hear it, the Eagles offered cornerback Lito Sheppard and a draft pick a couple of weeks ago, and the Lions flatly refused.

We're also told that the Eagles have made inquiries regarding Bengals receiver Chad Johnson, to no avail.  A media source thinks that Door No. 3 could be Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin.

I wonder how much is a smokescreen (saying they won't be dealt). Common sense says no team will ever come out and say a guy in on the block (see Joe Banner acting like Lito will be here) to keep his value up.

But I wonder how much the Bengals would do just to spite Johnson? WIll they force him to sit like he threatens to do? I think so.

Williams...who knows, Millen is a dumbass.

But I do like that the Eagles are at least inquiring. Making a run at Moss, asking about Williams, Johnson, Fitz and now Boldin possibly....shows me that they are willing to do something.

This weekend better not be a goddamn let down.

QuoteQuick reaction
Eagles radio analyst Mike Quick seemed taken aback yesterday by how quickly word spread among fans and reporters after he told former teammate Garry Cobb, on Cobb's blog, that he thinks the Eagles will make a major deal for a wideout this week, possibly for Detroit's Roy Williams.

Quick told the Daily News he hadn't uncovered any top-secret memos or anything, he was basing his feeling on the fact that the Eagles seem to have assured quarterback Donovan McNabb that his call for playmakers won't go unanswered, yet they haven't added any to his offensive arsenal.

Lions GM Matt Millen and coach Rod Marinelli spoke to Detroit-area reporters yesterday and reiterated that Williams would not be traded as he enters the final year of his rookie contract. *

Nice reporting as usual from Cobb.  I wonder if Mike Quick has any hunches about the primary today he can report as fact.

QuoteEagles are testing the market for Allen

By Bob Grotz bgrotz@comcast.net

PHILADELPHIA — The Eagles are among a handful of teams that inquired about securing defensive end Jared Allen, who led the NFL with 151/2 sacks last year. For now, the Kansas City Chiefs want choice draft picks, not a combination of players and picks for Allen, whom the club designated as its franchise player.

The Eagles discussed shipping cornerback Lito Sheppard and picks to the Chiefs, but not their first-round pick, according to a source. Sheppard's recent history of nagging injuries didn't win the Eagles any points, either.

Allen (6-6, 270) is being heavily pursued by the Minnesota Vikings, and to a lesser degree the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It's unclear whether the Eagles would meet the contract demands of Allen, who quietly wants a pact with $30 million guaranteed.

While Allen's talent is over the top, the same can be said of his behavior, at times. With a long-term contract, Allen would be a risky addition for he would face a lengthy suspension as a two-time offender, a source said, under terms of the league's substance abuse program. A slip and Allen's next employer would be in salary cap hell.Clearly the Eagles are turning over every stone, having given New York Jets defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson a physical, according to reports, and having previously baited their hook for elite wide receiver Randy Moss, who re-signed with the New England Patriots.

The Eagles have targeted some other No. 1-caliber wide receivers, sources said, and this could be the week they pull something off.

All of that said, the Eagles have a pretty good idea of what it will take to improve their No. 19 draft position in the first round. And if the buzz means anything, the Birds will move up. Potential targets include offensive lineman Branden Albert of Virginia, the athletic guard that projects to left tackle, and defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis of USC.

"People up at the top (of the draft) want to get out of there but I don't think it's going to be real easy just because of the money you're going to have to pay those picks," Eagles general manager Tom Heckert said. "It's so much that they better be so much better than the other guys you're going to get. I don't know. I think there will be some moves. I just don't know if it's going to be crazy."

While Heckert left the door open for Sheppard to stick around, sources say the chance of that happening is infinitesimal because of the message it would send to Eagles players. Sheppard, Heckert confirmed, hasn't participated in any of the offseason workouts with his soon-to-be former teammates.

"Anything can happen with Lito," Heckert said. "He can be here and play for us or he might not be here. Right now he's on our team and that's
