Beautiful shutout. The Flyers have clearly been the better team 5 of the 6 periods of this series.

Great game by Biron, the Defense, and really the forwards who supported the D.  Upshall was HUGE today.  Got them all off their game, created chances, threw good hits as usual.

I was particularly please with the two way play of Jeff Carter.  He has really eliminated the boneheaded plays that infuriated me to no end before Richards got hurt.

That first period from Biron was huge.  If the Caps get up in the first, I think it may have been downhill from there.  Biron kept the Flyers even, and the team took off in the 2nd.

We've ripped him for his inconsistent play rightfully all year.  But today he was stellar.

I hate to be downer but, the outcome of this game had just as much to do with lack of finishing by the Caps in the first as with the defense the rest of the game.  The Flyers had A LOT of turnovers in the first.  Until they fix that I'm not going to go too crazy. 

On the plus side, the Flyers are clearly the better team.

The defense was sloppy in its own end of the first, but played very well afterwards.  In particular I was pleased to see they were clogging the middle quite well, which is all they needed to do, since the Caps were content trying to skate through 1v1 the entire game.

No rock in the red after the first 10min.

The announcers kept on saying the big line up of the caps was an advantage for them, but every time the flyers worked them over. I thought they would stop, but nope

The defense for the last 2/3 of the game was not the 2008 Flyers. That was some other team because I haven't seen them play D like that all season.

Exactly.  Anyone saying the defense was anything other than smothering is a dingus.

Its obvious - well to me anyway - the Flyers are a much better team then the Caps. The Caps didn't impress me in game 1, the Flyers just made some really stupid mistakes and basically gave the game away. farg the Caps and their 3 week fans.

The first period the defense was not stellar.  Biron was forced to make a lot of very good saves.  They weren't terrible, but they weren't exceptional either.  In the 2nd and 3rd Philly was dominant both defensively and offensively.  Even the forwards played a sound game in the defensive end.
