QuoteSome people actually thought Joe Gibbs could reclaim his glory days and save the skins.
I know. Its hard to believe some people would think this about a guy who had already won three Superbowls. Then again, if he had coached the eagles then I guess two playoffs in three seasons (throwing out the first year) would have qualified as "glory days".

Why does his first year get omitted?  Since Gibbs has come back the Eagles went to the SB once and to the second round of the playoffs...also won the NFC East twice. Gibbs couldn't win the NFC East once and won 1 playoff game. You couldn't make yourself look like a bigger douchebag if you tried. Also forgot to add its his fault Sean Taylors dead.

To everyone else sorry for gaying up this thread. Back to Hitler vs. MLK vs. Iron my shirt bitch

Stop responding to the Klansman. All he wants is attention to spew his racist "I don't hate black people but I'm kind of scared of them and it's fine that they aren't slaves anymore but I wish that one wouldn't move next door and oh my good if my kid marries one I'll kill 'em" talk.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Florida will likely go Republican again anyway

McCain vs. Clinton would go to Clinton.
McCain vs. Obama would go to McCain.

So, yeah, it will.  But someone like Crist MIGHT make sense if Hillary's goons manage to literally take out Obama or something.  Florida's really the ONE swing state that Hillary would get for the Democrats, whereas basically all the other ones would be better for Obama.

Rome

Florida's going Republican again, dude.  Crist has a huge popularity thing going for him right now and he's going to be actively campaigning for McCain down here.

There's only so many liberals, Jews & minorities in this state who'd go for Clinton or Obama.  Trust me, the interior and northern part of this state is chock full of conservative right-wing religious nutbags, more than enough, even, to swing it in McCain's favor.

And BTW - I agree with MDS about the taterskin icehole.  Just ignore that clown.  He's not even worthy of smacking around anymore.

PoopyfaceMcGee

We know Hillary can count on your vote, though.

Remeber, shift any poll comparing Clinton and Obama to McCain 5 or 10% in the Dems favor, since people poll differently when their favorite is still in the race.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Don't worry, bra.  We're all about automatic shifting of polls here.

Because every coach sucks in their first year. Also Gibbs had spent the past 10+ years away from the sport.

Sean Taylor will spend the next 10+ years away from it, and it's all because Gibbs came back.

BTW, Gibbs will be voting for McCain.

Obama to receive Philly endorsements

QuoteBy Marcia Gelbart

INQUIRER STAFF WRITER
A bevy of city and state elected officials - specifically, six City Councilmembers, three state represenatives and two state senators - are expected to endorse Barack Obama for president at 2 p.m. today in City Hall.

"In addition to voicing support for their preferred Democratic candidate, this endorsement event is meant to balance the endorsements of other political leaders in the city and state, including Mayor Nutter and Governor Rendell," stated a press release announcing the event.

Nutter and Rendell are backing Hillary Rodham Clinton in Pennsylvania's April 22 primary.

The Council members who will announce their support of Obama today are: Curtis Jones, Bill Green, Jannie Blackwell, Donna Reed-Miller, Jim Kenney and Wilson Goode, Jr.

Among the Pennsylvania lawmakers will be state senators Shirley Kitchen and Vincent Hughes, and state representatives Jewell Williams, Harold James and Tony Payton Jr.

"In Pennsylvania, we realize that top party officials are not with us as it relates to Senator Obama's candidacy," Jones said, "but there are three words that were born in Philadelphia and still resonate across the Commonwealth today, and they are 'We the People.'"

I'd be surprised if this weren't the case. I'm pretty sure he voted for Bush in 2004. He's not infallible.

The only way McCain has a shot is if Colin Powell agrees to the second slot on the ticket.  Honestly, if Powell did agree to join the ticket and Hillary was the opponent, I'd go with McCain/Powell.  Not gonna happen, though, on either side.

Also - I keep hearing Charlie Crist's name being floated but that makes no sense whatsoever.  Florida will likely go Republican again anyway, so what's the benefit of adding a white governor from a southern state to a ticket with a white guy from a southwestern state that is historically a GOP stronghold?  Are the Republicans really that dumb and/or desperate?

The problem with Colin Powell is that he's the same age as McCain and he needs a younger VP to compensate for his advanced age.

Crist is an idiot.  I really hope McCain doesn't go for him.  I would like for him to take Condi Rice.
