I own season 1 of the wire, MDS and I have not had time to watch it. Arrested Development is going to be bought soon, I never watched it before but I was sneaking peeks off of some chick watching it next to me on a plane and it had me cracking up.

if it makes you feel better even had i never seen the wire the chances of me ever watching another show was minimal at best

Buying entire shows on DVD is, for the most part, retarded. My wife bought me the box set for The West Wing for Christmas a couple of years ago and the shrink wrap is still on it.

I have a couple of DVD sets I watch (Band of Brothers is one and the original, uncut, uncensored Looney Tunes series from the 1930's & 1940's is the other). Other than those two, I don't watch them at all, and even those two I only watch occasionally. The Bugs Bunny/DaffyDuck/Elmer Fudd shorts from WWII are amazing historical documents and I usually pull them out to freak out friends who've never seen them uncut. Totally violent, totally racist and totally hilarious. People seriously can't believe they were ever made until I show them.

i said the pilot was good, which it was. the rest of the series has been very mixed and uneven. its not a bad show, but its not a good show.

If you want something besides The Wire and Arrested Development, check out Dexter if you haven't seen it. Great show.

Also Weeds and Californication are pretty good shows as well, but they aren't serious shows. More like dramedies.
