Maybe, maybe not.  But Anthony Mix scares the bejesus out of me!
I'm not from Philly but some say I'm blunt.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Where Were You When Sean Taylor Got Shot?

Quotei was at school in spanish class...my friend alex was on the computer and said "Derek, Sean Taylor got shot in the leg.." and i kinda jokingly said that doesnt matter, it probably hurt the bullet. then the next morning i woke up for school and had a text message from him....and i knew what it would say. i had to run downstairs and turn on espn to make sure. i was more pissed off at first than anything.

Quotei found out he was shot from my mom after school and I broke out in tears before she could tell me how he was and i found out he was dead while getting dressed and i cried like i never have before

QuoteI woke up and flipped open my phone to check ESPN for scores and stuff before I hopped in the shower. Saw the news and sat on the edge of my bed with my head in my hands praying.

What's really funny is how many people said that their mom woke them up and gave them the news.  Then you look at their profile info and see that they're all in their 20's.  ES'ers are the new Star Wars geeks.

Nice division matchup to start the season for the Burgundy & Gold. The NFL gets one of their hallmark organizations and their new, emerging star Head Coach out in primetime and on center stage for the rest of the league to see, pairing them up with a Giants team who were a nice story last season.

Big time opener for the Skins as they build off the playoff appearance in '07. Jason Campbell was knocking on the door of the elite club of NFL QBs last year, and this year he is poised to kick it down. Portis and Betts are the two-headed monster leading the running attack, and they'll join Santana and Randle-El in the new West Coast passing attack. Too many weapons, and that's not even mentioning Pro Bowler Chris Cooley or emerging big target and current special teams ace Anthony Mix. Cooley? Santana? Portis? Mix? Pick your poison.

The defense? Oh baby. London Fletcher leads a dominant unit, quarterbacking the defense from the middle LB spot. Young bulls Golston and Montgomery anchor the line, and the secondary is in the capable hands of Fred Smoot and young gun Leigh Torrance. Watch this kid, along with classic speed rusher Chris Wilson...potential Pro Bowler down the line. Carlos Rogers will be coming back, along with Rocky McIntosh. Young and lethal defense.

I wish the season started tomorrow.

WHo wrote that?

Anthony Mix?!?!?!?!?!

Chris Wilson a classic speed rusher?

Leigh Torrance is a young gun?

Nothing says "emerging star head coach" like a 0-0 all-time record as a head coach.

Munson's happy for him, though.

Munson

Hey now I'm only happy for the guy that spent a few years in the Eagles coaching system getting a shot....Jim Zorn can go farg himself.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I'm not ashamed to admit, I openly wept as I read this.

Speaking of openly weeping...

Sean Taylor is in the Hall of Fame

Lots of Gems.  Either people are missing out on the fact that this was a photo of the Hall wayyyy before he was shot in the balls (I.E., this isnt a tribute), or people are giving the "OMG! He should be in the hall!" treatement.  Oh, and the "Im the biggest fan, I was crying when I saw this" posts.

Quotehe should be in the hall of fame... hes the first all pro athlete killed during a season.

hes not a terrell davis who got hurt. he was robbed not by his body, but criminals... and that should be documented in the hall of fame. **** being pc, thats just the appropriate thing to do.

QuoteI actually think he could be inducted 5 years from now, even though his career didn't even make it to 4 full years. I have no doubt in my mind that he would've been a HOFer if he had played 10 years. RIP Sean...

Quotein not saying he should be inducted for his play, but they should document it in some type of exhbit, as it really was a big deal nation wide.. maybe not for nationwide sports media, but none the less was serious cooler talk to say the least and was on cnn forever. the world got a glimpse, they understood the tragedy and i think accepts the fact that it was epically devistating to one of the leagues most well known franchises. that in itself is reason to document it, as it is historic in many senses. we are talking about murder, not car accident or drugs. this is just my opinion, but i seriously argue that seans story should be documented in canton, given his extraordinary ability on the field and the nature of his departing.

QuoteAwesome awesome move.. The NFL finally got something right

QuoteToo bad it couldnt have been a bust of him, but this is awesome.

QuoteThat is sweet. awesome geasture.

QuoteIf taylor were still alive he'd make the Hall anyway. I knew they'd put him in it, all players that become deceased get a space in the Hall as far as I am aware. RIP taylor...

QuoteI love it! Makes me wanna shed a tear.

QuoteMan I feel like crying everytime I see something about Sean Taylor!

to be fair, a few get it

QuoteLook at the picture.....it's not about Taylor, it's about the taterskins.
Yes, Taylor is in the large picture backgroud/stand but look at the smaller pictures attached to the Taylor pic. it's about the Skins.

Matter of fact, Sammy Baugh, what looks like Green and maybe a RB are on the smaller pics. Maybe the HOF will have a thing on Taylor, but maybe they should have a section about players who died while active players in the NFL (there are a few not just Sean).

Sadly, Sean will not be induted into the HOF.
