There is a significant difference.  It's why the support from Farrakhan for Obama issue faded away so quickly in comparison.  If McCain was a member of a looney tunes white supremacist church for 20 years, donating tens of thousands of dollars to it, he would be called to task on it too.

The fact of the matter is that McCain is only as religious as he has to be to keep support from the Christian coalition, and frankly Obama and Clinton probably have more faith than he does.

farrakhan comparison is horrible...barry smashed him down the minute he offered his endorsement...said he didnt want it...thats why it went away

mccain seeked out hagee and went out of his way to share a stage with him and accept his support...as well as the other cat

if anything the obama relationship is more understandable because the guy was his preacher and he had a 20 year relationship with him so how would he toss him to the curb...all he could do is disagree with some of his rantings

also wright attacked american policies and the govt...these fundamentalist christinas attack groups of people...gays catholics jews minorities ect...

the bottom line is its ok to seek out the support of hateful preachers as long as they are white and christian...its been going on forever with no backlash whatsoever...but the minute a black muslim or jewish preacher says something its wwIII

We've had a few of these before (who knows, probably this one as well), and the questions are somewhat simplistic, but could be of interest in an election year.

The political group that
agrees with you most is....

LIBERAL

LIBERALS usually embrace freedom of choice in personal

matters, but tend to support significant government control of the

economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net"
to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation

of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations,

defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action

to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

Rome

As is the case with most polls, the questions asked are so general and leave so much room for interpretation, it's almost useless.

Still, no shock here.  I strongly agreed with all the social issues and moderately with most of the economic ones.

CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government
control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on
the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention
and sometimes support individual freedom of choice.
Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind,
tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what
they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

I dont see why the government at this point doesnt legalize small amounts, tax it, give it the same laws as liquor for driving.  It's working well in California.

Democratic Party Official: Clinton Pursuing 'The Tonya Harding Option'
March 25, 2008 3:44 PM

l just spoke with a Democratic Party official, who asked for anonymity so as to speak candidly, who said we in the media are all missing the point of this Democratic fight.

The delegate math is difficult for Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, the official said. But it's not a question of CAN she achieve it. Of course she can, the official said.

The question is -- what will Clinton have to do in order to achieve it?

What will she have to do to Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, in order to eke out her improbable victory?

She will have to "break his back," the official said. She will have to destroy Obama, make Obama completely unacceptable.

"Her securing the nomination is certainly possible - but it will require exercising the 'Tonya Harding option.'" the official said. "Is that really what we Democrats want?"

The Tonya Harding Option -- the first time I've heard it put that way.

It implies that Clinton is so set on ensuring that Obama doesn't get the nomination, not only is she willing to take extra-ruthless steps, but in the end neither she nor Obama win the gold.
