Wing, you don't really believe that it doesn't make a difference who the QB is.  I know you know better than that.

It does.

But a stud WR is a stud WR. You would think a stud WR would have had more than 1 season over 900 yards.

This may be where the disconnect is.  No one is saying that Evans is one of the leagues best WR's.  Evans is a very good WR who would be a great complimentary piece to this offense and add a dimension that is sorely needed.  A guy like him can flourish here... also allowing with Curtis to play more slot, where he could flourish... and so on.

Everyone here would rather have Fitz, Roy or CJ... but with none of them likely to happen... Evans is a pretty damn good plan B.

lito IS getting traded get over the idea that they are gonna keep him....and like i said you could do way worse than to get lee evans for him

no chance youve seen buffalos offense play in the last five years...brutal qb's terrible offensive line and no wr opposite him...and even in that mess of a team he put up some real nice numbers...especially touchdowns...he has like five less career touchdowns than curtis and brown put together

You can continue to split hairs here...but that will not change the fact that Lee Evans is an average WR on an crap team. It's a useless arguement. That started because I pointed out that Lee Evans would be a terrible choice, and would not be much of an upgrade. I dont give a shtein what evans did in 2004 or 2005. Last season Evans was held to under 20 yards in 1 game 6 times.

And other than a 2 TD game vs Miami...he would have scored 3 TDs last season.

If that is a #1 WR to you...fine.

I stand by what I said before. farg Lee Evans

No he isn't.

I would prefer to hold out for another shot at another #1 WR, than settle for another #2 WR.

In fact, the Alba thing would happen before Reid gets "risky" with one of Donovan's passes.

stop.

Again.

farg Lee Evans

If he were a great WR...then it wouldnt matter who is throwing the ball. He's average at best who has his best games vs the texans.

The last two years vs the Ravens:
7 for 145, 1 TD
5 for 98

against the Bears in 2006:
9 for 94, 1 TD

He has had some good games against good defenses.  As many people around here that bitched about losing Stallworth to the Pats, Evans is a much better player.

Rome

QuoteThe thing I disagree with from the fans and the media is that the Eagles "don't care" about the WR position. They do. They have made a lot of moves at the position and, the truth is that they like Brown and Curtis a lot. They really do. But they also missed on some draft picks and then Owens and Stallworth were short-term players here. I also think drafting a WR in the first round is the wrong approach. If you love one, yeah. But everything I read is that this group of WRs is just OK and nothing special. I want the best player, not the best WR. I also want this group of WRs and this offense to improve and play well this year. I have a lot of confidence that the offense will be much better than some of you think.

Nauseating.  I called him on it too.  farging bullshtein.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Sure, the offense will be better than last year, if multiple key guys stay healthy, and Tra and Runyan are still on the team and still have gas in the tank, and everyone takes a small step up, and L.J. returns to form, and....

The top-line talent on offense is questionable outside of McNabb, Westbrook, and Andrews... and there is absolutely no depth.

Plus, being better than last year isn't anything to write home about.

9-7.

Rome

Saying, writing or posting nothing would be preferable to reading that nonsense.  Him saying that the receivers in this year's draft are nothing special is outright retarded, especially considering there's at least four or five who'd be available in the first round alone that would be potentially better than what they have now.

Even worse is the line about the trade market being dead.  It's only dead because the Eagles are refusing to give up more than usual to get better players.

Whatever.  According to them the receivers are fine.  I hope they all choke to death on their own vomit.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Well, all of them except Curtis.  Because he's the best white slot receiver in the NFL next to Wes Welker.

ice grillin you

with the exception of desean jackson who can step right in and be a great KR...i was kinda against any wr in the first round because they wont contribute in andys offense this season...but the more i think about it the chances of whoever they pick at 19 not playing this year is pretty high...so why not a wr

PoopyfaceMcGee

If there are any guys that have a "ceiling" capable of being a #1 in the future, why not?  But the last thing they need to waste a pick on is someone that has no hope of being better than Reggie Brown.

Rome

Jackson isn't "special" according to some people.  Nevermind he's one of the fastest guys in the draft and would electrify the return game.  Nope.   He's just average.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Jackson's worst-case scenario is total bust, just like ANY player, sure.

However, his best-case is Steve Smith and 2nd best is Devin Hester.

ice grillin you

sure he could be a bust but so could jerome mcdougle

bottom line is theres a reason hes almost universally rated in the top 20 players in the entire draft....but i guess everyone is wrong and that fool is right
