if theres about 9000 college players and only a couple hundred get drafted who do you think will make it more...i wonder what the numbers are on pro bowls all pro teams...superbowl starters ect...

It's not that unheard of. The patriots only kept 2 draft picks of 9 from last year

It was a very thin draft. especially in the secondary.

no it was only three of them before the season started....and i said its almost unheard of...plus the patriots are a superbowl team they can afford to take chances and cut people...eagles also only had 8 picks and cut three before game one

Drafting the best player available (according to them) regardless of position gets this team in the sort of jams that they fell into last year.  They actually thought that the talent level up and down the roster was so good they didn't need a first round draft choice.  Their 8-8 record proved just how disastrously wrong that philosophy was.

I just listened to Eskin's interview with Reid and came away convinced that the same bullshtein they've pulled over the past seven or eight years will repeat itself again.

"We have receivers good enough to win with."    No, you don't.

"Games are won and lost in the trenches."  Yes, they are.  Trouble is your talent evaluators take guys who either can't play or aren't nearly as good as you think they are.

On and on it goes with them.  Donovan pleads for playmakers on offense and Westbrook echoes those sentiments.  When your two most dangerous weapons are pleading for you to add more, what's left to do but to listen?  I know, let's add more offensive linemen!  That will make those "good enough" receivers into champions!

Kill me.  Just farging kill me.

how about andy saying "theres a certain team out there that went out and got a lot of wr's that didnt help them win a superbowl"

Well, he is right about that.

Other than listening to Howard verbally fellate Andy for 45 minutes, that was the worst part of the interview.

And of course Howard failed to bring up the fact that the Giants, did, in fact, win the Super Bowl with a free agent wide receiver even if the Patriots didn't.  It might have taken a couple of years but without Plaxico on that team, they don't make the playoffs much less win the Super Bowl.

BTW: Is there anyone here who would gladly have taken the Eagles going 18-1 this past season instead of 8-8?  Just spitballing here but I think the answer might be uh-huh.

SunMo

if howard had any integrity, he would've brought up that the Giants have real "fastballs" in their front 7

thats the laughable part about it...why doesnt andy sign wr's to get to the superbowl then do whatever he wants in order to win it

its also ironic that randy moss caught what should have been the winning touchdown with two minutes left and the guy reid just signed dropped the interception that lost the superbowl

which brings up another point...why pay 50 million bucks to a corner if wr's dont win you anything

PoopyfaceMcGee

You guys are really stupid, and Reid would have been even more stupid that you had he actually said anything like, "We really need to get another offensive weapon," or "We're definitely going after a top-flight WR via trade."

He absolutely has to come out publicly and say that he's fine as is.  Else, he loses all bargaining power he might have had with teams like Arizona and Detroit.

Relax.  Where there's smoke, there's fire.  Reid wouldn't have sweet-talking Randy farging Moss for hours if he wasn't serious about getting Donovan a major target and making a big run.  Still, as much as he'd be an idiot for not doing that is akin to him announcing to Howard Eskin that he needs to get a WR.

Rome

"We think we have good receivers here."

Sure, that's why you begged Moss to come to Philly and offer him more than the Patriots did.

There were so many contradictions uttered in that interview it was impossible to keep up with them all.  It really is infuriating listening to the streaming river of bullshtein that flows from him.

I didn't say that.

that's why you don't listen to him and just watch what they do.  they are obviously trying to get a wideout...so they may say they don't need one, but they know they do.
