its not a good thing because the cb position is fine and by getting a samuel it wont significantly improve the team as they already have real good corners...when lito is healthy hes every bit as good a samuel and while hes better than sheldon it isnt so much that it adds wins to the team...and if you sign samuel you strictly inhibit what you can do elsewhere at spots that truly need upgrading

If Joselio Hanson is your starter, then it's pretty motherfarging far from fine.

The Eagles do need help at corner.  Their nemesis is Burress.  Nobody on the team can cover him.  They need to bring in someone that matches up specifically with him.  Like I have said he is the new Tiki.

Besides look at the starting corners the last couple of years.  There has been way too much turn over due to injury.  They need a big corner that can run and stay healthy.

Agreed.  I don't get it either.  Sure, the CB position could use a little tinkering, but it makes little to no sense to throw out $80-100 million at it to add Samuel... unless they plan on moving Lito to upgrade elsewhere.

If there are no plans to trade Lito... then they should be looking at a quality nickel corner at best and concentrate on other positions.

If the Eagles are looking to add a big player to the secondary, it should be S and Gibril Wilson fits the bill the best, IMO.

scouts inc on what they think are the eagles needs are (in the draft)...

Wide receiver: The Eagles had serious red zone woes last season, and acquiring a big, physical wide receiver to complement and push Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown could result in more points for Philadelphia. Whether it is Donovan McNabb or youngster Kevin Kolb behind center the next few seasons, adding a dangerous pass catcher with size makes all the sense in the world for this passing-based offense. The Eagles did franchise TE L.J. Smith to ensure they have an athletic target with size, but that is also an indication of just how big a need this area is for Philadelphia because Smith clearly is not among the elite tight ends in the league right now.

Defensive end: Trent Cole had a terrific season as the starting right defensive end. He is an excellent pass-rusher and is an overall terror coming off the edge, but he is undersized and can wear down as the game progresses. Philadelphia must find a complement to Cole, preferably a bigger defensive end who can hold the point of attack on the strong side while also offering pass-rush skills. It is likely Jevon Kearse and Darren Howard will be released soon, so this need must be addressed.

Safety: Brian Dawkins has had a terrific career, but age and injuries slowed him a year ago and the arrow might finally be trending down for Philadelphia's starting free safety. He can still contribute at a pretty high level, but finding a replacement in the draft seems like a logical move. Dawkins will be 35 next season, and SS Sean Considine should be a solid starter although he isn't spectacular in any area.

Offensive tackle: Top backup Winston Justice was embarrassed on national television by Osi Umenyiora early in the season, and the Eagles' starting tackles are well on the wrong side of 30 years old. Although Justice should not be written off, especially as the successor to Jon Runyan on the right side, the Eagles need to find an athletic big man to groom behind William Thomas. This draft could be the ideal one in which to find such a project.

Middle linebacker: Omar Gaither is the starter in the middle, and although he is adequate, he does not have the ideal size or take-on ability for the middle. Gaither could be better off on the outside if the Eagles can find a banger in the middle. Overall, the Eagles' linebackers are solid but unspectacular, and Takeo Spikes might not have many good years left in him. Adding one more playmaker here would be beneficial.

Other than that, the article was on point.  But it didn't give us any new info either.

That's pretty much how I see it too.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I think the issue is that they also signed Kearse and Howard to address it.

It's funny they've signed two "good" free agents, drafted one in the 1st and one in the 2nd....

...and the one they drafted in the 5th is the best of all of them.
