Actually, if you have a hammer it might give me what I need.  I also have a theory that the weapon caps the damage you can do.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

When you get a chance.

What's your id#, and what's your current location?

I will have to use a katana though.  I don't carry any hammers for fear the game's algorithm will randomly have me use one when attacked.

Cerevant

Phatty did it.  Someone already kicked the shtein out of me with a Katana, and it killed me before I had a chance to hit.

done but the attack log is too long to PM, 547 moves.  i can split it up into a few if you want.

NM - results:

1) weapon caps your damage, regardless of your STR.
2) you will defend with a random weapon, and you can defend a melee attack with a gun.  only carry one weapon (at least until JB fixes the code)

What are your stats Phatty?

so, if i have a shotgun and a meat clever, the computer will choose the meat clever to defend myself and not the shotgun?
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Cerevant

Randomly, yes.  It will switch between the two.

if i get rid of the meat clever, it has no choice but to use the shotgun the whole time

Exactly.

Can someone shoot me a MJ?  I'm stuck in NYC and short on cash.

Exactly.

You sure you won't defend with your hands or whatnot?

Have you figured out the damage cap for the katana vs. the shotgun?

In over 500 rounds of combat I hit phatty numerous times with my gun, but never my fists.  I guess I could have missed, but it seems unlikely.

JB has said that the more it costs, the better it is.  As far as I can tell, the only difference between weapons is their damage cap.  I guess if the katana costs more than the shotgun, it might have a higher damage cap.  You know, since you have both you could give it a try and tell us what you find.
