Apparently Hugh is saying the Eagles aren't really that interested in Samuel and that from what he hears from his sources inside the organization they're trying their best to make a trade for Fitzgerald. Hugh is a little off at times but he did call the Kolb pick prior to the draft last year.

I just got done reading the 10-page retard fight over on the EMB about this topic..

Did Hugh say Fitz specifically or did Angelo pull a penis out of his mouth long enough to throw in his name as speculation?

Ha, there is never a comment that is innocuous when it comes to this team.  Every change in the shade of McNabb's urine elicits afternoon long debate about it's iron content and how his lack of red meat consumption is why we should have stuck with Garcia, who of course, loves his meat.

You know, I'd be pretty damn happy with the Gerbil at S, Roy Williams WR, and GoCong to DE and addressing SAM (I choose that over the Jason Taylor option for hopefully the long term youth.  plus, then we'd have vic, juq, jason at RE alone (plus the $ JT would demand) and still the cluster farg at lb).  It'd also allow us to throw another LB on teams.  MJG should win the LG spot.  and if we could add me tagging rachel bilson, I'd be set.

What an absolutely marvelous day it is to be alive! There's a cool subtle breeze blowing from the Northwest. The Sun is bright and radiant! The skies are clear and the wind is cool and fresh. The ocean is thriving with marine life, the woods are alive with wildlife, and the skies are filled with soaring birds -- which are lead of course -- by the All Mighty Eagle! Sorry I couldn't respond to every personal message but here I am with the latest from my inside sources:

- The Eagles have had talks with the Dolphins to see what it would take to pry Jason Taylor away from Miami. The communication is still open but as of right now the draft picks involved and his salary was too high for the Eagles liking.

- The Eagles do have some interest in Asante Samuel, but they had more interest in Marcus Trufant before he was tagged. If the Eagles don't sign or trade for a starting caliber corner expect them to address this need with their first round pick. If this happens expect Lito to stay put while the pick is groomed.

- Speaking of Lito, the Eagles feel the leaked story of him being able to seek a trade did come from his agent. The Eagles know he and his agent are unhappy with their deal but will under no circumstances renegotiate his deal.

- The Eagles will try to sign Gibril Wilson when free agency opens

- As far as Wide Receivers go the Eagles do like Fitzgerald but think Roy Williams would be a more practical solution. The holdup with both players isn't the trade compensation but both players wanting a new lucrative deal. If things go as planned expect to see one of these players in an Eagles uniform sometime within the next month. If neither player is added the Eagles would then consider Stallworth as an option.

- Jimmy Johnson has toyed with the idea of moving GoCong to left defensive end if the Eagles are able to find a decent SAM and unable to upgrade the defensive end spot. This move is a huge long shot since the Eagles invested so much time into having him learn the SAM position.

- MJG will get a long look at the Guard spot in the preseason. The Eagles feel Herremans will bounce back after a disappointing season but want MJG to push him.

- The Eagles would like to add a veteran defensive tackle to the mix. They have toyed with the idea of keeping Howard around as a 3rd DT. The cost of his dead money would be about the same as it would take for them to sign a new DT.

- There is some interest in Antwan Odom but since so many teams are in need of a defensive end the Eagles feel his asking price might be too high.

- As for the draft a lot will depend on how free agency and trades work out. If I have the time I'll try to post an update prior to the draft.
