i dont like lowry....hes basically a lou williams clone with less talent....a two guard in a point guards body
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

Dillen

Pass first PG who can rebound very well but can't shoot. Real good on defense.

Lou Will = not. Pretty much the opposite. They're similar athletically and especially speed wise, but there's no way I'd turn down getting Lowry.

reese125

I agree. I like Lowry alot. Hes got a great handle who I think is going to be a really good PG with the right pieces around him. When he's stepped in for Conley when injured, he played very well

The only problem is your looking at a mirror image of Memphis or worse with the Sixers. Unless the Sixers pick up any kind of true outside threat or legitimate low post scorer, its pointless--Im sure thats their intention though

i dont want a six foot pg that isnt a GREAT distributor....hell i dont really want a six foot pg period

I love that Iverson is an afterthought to Melo.  Eat it, playa.

reese125

hardly an afterthought. dude still is a freak of nature and still plays a phenomenal amount of minutes. That team wouldn't be close to where they are now without him.

Here are some excerpts from the phone call yesterday with Gargano and Ed Stephanski's out of the blue call in regarding the Sixers :

1) regarding the younger players:

"maybe earlier in the season, we pushed the envelope trying to get them PT, but since we've gotten them on the court.. now, we cant get them off the court & they deserve all the time their getting"

2) trading Korver got me the cap space I really wanted and it allows Thad to get the minutes I want him to get

3) "we are playing the kids, they're playing incredibly hard and we are winning

4) draft status

"whatever happens w the draft- happens. Im not going to ask them to lose"

ANDRE MILLER:

1) Miller at 32 has a lot left in the tank

2) I am not looking to build around 1 individual player there's no Shaq or Duncan. I want to build as a team

Anthony Gargano asked him,

"Ed, your biggest needs seem to be PF and/or that #1 scorer"

Ed replies: "Thad is real good scorer and has potential w that low post little left hand hook."

then he continued: "I've been scouting lots of players now who have turned themselves into good shooters (he brought up Calderon and Manu who were "horrible shooters when they came into the league."

"I think Lou/Thad/Iggy & Carney will all become effective 3pt shooters if they continue to work on their shot"

I really wish Gargano would of pressed the ability of trading Miller or get some an expiring again as in the Korver trade to land a PF next year..but Gargano is so soft.

another win closer to the playoffs. Thad gives me basketball wood

reese125

no doubt Jason Kidd leaving made it a hell of a lot easier

or not. George blocked the trade.
"Oh, yeah. They'll still boo. They have to. They're born to boo. Just now, they'll only boo with two Os instead of like four." - Larry Andersen

I've been on it all along.  I think rooting for losses is ridiculous.  Need to get these young guys winning, so they begin to get addicted to the taste of it.
