The Eagles said they'd want two first round picks for McNabb.  Think if a team came up with two firsts and threw in a player or two the Eagles wouldn't bite?  Please.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

What team in their right mind would offer two no.1's for a qb who has been hurt  three of the last four years? No matter what anyone thinks of how good he looked the last couple of games, that fact has to weigh on the mind of any FO.

Cerevant

I didn't say it makes sense, but to make a blanket statement that there is no way the Eagles would deal McNabb is asinine.

i think the rumors of last season were that they would only listen to offers of 3 first round picks.

That just furthers my point - If someone is willing to pony up 3 first round picks, the Eagles would be stupid not to take it.

we don't even need chad johnson.  think about it.  we only lost to the eventual super bowl champions in week 14 by 3.  we beat them last year in the playoffs.  we only have to improve 3 pts...if at all.  with another year of experience under their belt, this team is has super bowl champion all over them.  we should all just sit back and relax and prepare for what we should do in the year 2024.
Pass.  Pass. Pass. PUNT.  No pro bowl WR's.  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  Retarded special teams.  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  "I've got to do a better job."  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  Running game shines for 3 plays. Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  No adjustments anywhere.  Pass.  Pass. Pass. PUNT.  (repeat)

No shtein.

Please with the hypothetical scenarios that would NEVER HAPPEN. NO Team would pony up 3 first round picks...therefore, I stand by what I said..they won't trade McNabb.  ::)

FS 64,

What did the birds give up for Roman Gabriel in 1973?  Harold Jackson, Touchdown Tony Baker and was it not 1st round pick in 1974?  And did not Bill Bergey cost the team some high picks?  Birds didn't have a #1 until 1979 when they took Jerry Robinson out of UCLA.

Don't know about players, but wasn't Gruden traded to Tampa for that?
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Come on - Herschel Walker? Ricky Williams?  Teams have made offers that couldn't be refused before.

I just get annoyed when people pull the IGY routine - X won't happen.  Not "probably won't", not "unlikely", not "there's no good reason for them to" - just "it won't happen".

PoopyfaceMcGee

If they decide that rebuilding is the best way to beat the Super Bowl champion Giants, then trading McNabb would actually be smart.  That said, if you don't think he's the best QB to lead the Eagles in 2008, you're cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

Feva

The shtein you guys spend time arguing about sometimes is unbelievable.

Why don't we all just agree that they won't trade McNabb this year unless someone comes along with some incredible offer they simply can't refuse?

Which of course... puts him in the company of any other player in the NFL.
