Last I heard (around 6am) the 2 sides were still pretty far off on a deal and the major hang up was the length of the extension.  Santana wants 6 and the Mets don't want to do more than 5. 

I will laugh my ass of if they don't get it done.

actually im not that upset about the trade since its been pretty well known that it was going to happen for like six months...

so it has nothing to do with that

the fact is the deadline may be extended but the trade WILL happen

and the reason that isnt a bold claim is because the trade has already happened and the mets have more money than god but not as much as the yankees...so theres no way they dont get it done and it doesnt take a genius to know this

It also doesn't take a genius to know the basic theories of supply and demand.  If Santana is asking for about 3 times what Lohse is asking, they have to question if it's worth the cash, even if they have it available.
