The VP doesn't have to come from that crop and probably won't.

That ticket could definitely win. In fact, it has to win. Clinton or another Republican could be worse than what we have now.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

If Clinton wins does anyone think it'll be Clinton Gore again?

Anyone that wants to dim expectations and get in line with status quo is the enemy in this election.

Hillary, Giuliani, and Fred Thompson are the worst examples, but really Obama, Edwards, and Ron Paul are the only ones willing to present wholesale upheaval of the system.  And Obama's the only one that isn't a douche or a crazy person.

That brings up the obvious next question. Who else would even be considered for a VP run? Clearly I don't keep up with all of the insignificant no names out there.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

i understand that they are both very liberal candidates. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. Whoever comes out of the Democratic side of things is going to be pretty goddamned liberal. Hillary and Edwards are almost identical in their stances

it matters because you dont generally want your presidential candidate and vp candidate to be to alike...in this case two pretty liberal guys in obama and edwards...to go along with obama you would want someone more centric like a leiberman type

and hillary and edwards are not identical...hillary is the right leaning moderate you referenced above who talks like a lefty when it suits her

A name being floated out there for Clinton is Evan Bayh.  I think Edwards is clearly trying to get on Obama's good side, but I haven't heard any names there.

I know you'd love to believe that everyone is assailing your views, but Hillary really is a strong leftist at heart.  Problem is she doesn't have much of a heart and is more of a politician than a person.  Just like Mitt Romney on the Republican side, both of them will say almost anything to win.

Fun fact about Romney, by the way... His dad, who was briefly considered the frontrunner in the 1968 Republican primary, was actually born in Mexico, as his parents had moved the family there to escape persecution (and prosecution) for polygamy.  So, the constitutional bit about "natural-born citizen" was nearly called into question in a serious way, and Romney's Mormon roots don't go too far back to find some multiple spouse action.

From the research I've done over the last few weeks Hillary's voting record has been nearly identical to Edwards', but again, I'm just coming into this whole pay-attention-to-specific-politicians thing so I won't pretend to know enough to argue at length about it.

If Obama gets the nod then he needs a white conservative southerner to balance the ticket.

America might be progressing slightly but it hasn't progressed enough to have a black muslim and a white southern liberal trial lawyer running things.

I wouldn't exactly call electing white lawyers in general "progressive".

Sgt PSN

You live in an area where asking a brotha to pick the tree is considered progressive.

Durham and Jacksonville, NC are basically the same!

He may not be one of them, but what does he stand for? He sounds off about change, what change? His voting record is eye popping when you look at his non vote's, i'd like to see how many he with held on, and how many he was absent.

If he wanted to get a conservitive pissed off voter to switch, go after Joe lieberman and I might jump on the bandwagon. Where has that guy gone?
