perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Forcing turnovers wasn't even a real issue with this defense this year.  Yeah, they would have likely benefited from more take aways but they didn't really "need" them in order to win games.  What really killed them this year was their inability to make key stops in the 2nd half of games and the offense's inconsisencies, both of which got better towards the end of the year.

Week 1 vs GB -  Eagles defense had 2 take aways.  1 Int, 1 FumRec.  Lost by 3 points, 10 of which came from botched punt returns.

Wee 2 vs Was - Eagles defense had 1 take away (int).  Offense had no turnovers.  Gave up a 4th qtr td and lost by 8.

Week 4 vs NYG - Even turnover ratio (1 each).  Offense didn't score until the 4th qtr (FG).  Lost by 13.

Week 7 vs Chi - No turnovers.  Couldn't stop Chicago in the 4th qtr.  Gave up 2 FG's and GWTD.

Week 9 vs Dal - 1 take away (int).  Gave up 17 points in 2nd half.

Week 12 vs NE - 0 take aways.  Only allowed 1 second half score (td in 3rd qtr).

Week 13 vs Sea - 2 take aways (1 FR, 1 int).  Allowed 1 2nd half score (td in 3rd qtr).

Week 14 vs NYG - 2 take aways (2 FR).  Allowed 10 points in 2nd half (td, fg in 3rd qtr).

In their 8 losses they had a total of 9 take aways.  On the season they had 19.  So basically 50% of their take aways came during losses.  To me, that doesn't mean that they need more take aways to win games.  They won 8 games and only had 10 take aways.  And no, I'm not trying to argue that take aways are meaningless.  More take aways = better odds of winning.  I know that.

This season simply came down to the defense not making those one or two plays they needed to in the 2nd half of ball games and it came down to the offense simply being too inconsistant.  Of course, those are the things that make a team 8-8.

But it's not all doom and gloom though.  Lots of positives came out of this season and as long as the right additions (Chad Johnson)/subtractions(Howard/Kearse/Considine) are made this offseason, then I really don't see why this team can't quickly elevate themselves back to the top of the NFC.

I'm on duty tonight so it's not that I'm drunk.  I'm bored.

I was going for suicidal but you're still posting.  Guess I'll have to try harder next time.

I have a feeling that they are going to acquire Javon Walker.

1. His price tag will not be as high as the one slapped on Chad Johnson, Roy Williams or Larry Fitzgerald.

2. He was in the Nova Care Complex (shout out to LeCharles Bentley) a couple years ago working on a contract and was thought to be headed here until he was dealt to Denver.

3. That means this FO already likes him. He's got a cheap(er) price tag, the Eagles have 13 draft picks and he's had injury concerns.

That says Future Eagle like nothing else, IMO.

Javon Walker, Kevin Curtis & Reggie Brown = good enough to win

Didn't that turn out to be a false rumor started by some limo driver who called WIP and said he picked Walker up at the airport? Or am I thinking of someone else.

Anything higher than a 3rd and I'd pass

Walker went back on his trade request anyway...he wants to stay in Denver
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

But does Denver still want him?   He hasn't exaclty been worth the money they've been shelling out to him and the emergence of Brandon Marshall just might make Walker a little more expendable.

Having said that, Walker is still only about 4th or 5th on the list of recievers I'd like them to bring in.

Me too.  Which means that Baskett pretty much needs to find himself a new number.
