that was right after he gave Donovan a subtle shot about the "playmakers" blog saying "I don't like to throw anybody under the bus"

Howard was the ultimate embarrassment last night though

boy knows whats up.

You might of figured Donovan's comments were going to slap some teammates in the face

ice grillin you

in donovans defense he did say on the blog that he was one of the people holding the team back

i also dont undersatnd how you can take offense to your starting qb calling out he fact that they lack playmakers...thats what a leader should do

the problem here is that mcnabb has been milquetoast for his entire career in this dept...so him doing this now reeks a little bit of insincerity...because you kinda gotta question if hes really doing it for the betterment of the team or if hes trying to get himself out of town

Howard was screaming, doesn't the defense have to do a better job?  Sheldon asks, how many times did we give up 17 or less?  John Clark says 8 times....he asks how many times the offense scored 17 or less, Clark says 10 times...he just looks at Howard.  Howard screams, "I don't care about that, it's about turnovers!"

hahaha

What's the deal with the 17 point thing?  I know J.J. always preaches it but that figure sure comes up a lot when they start talking about the defense.

Seems weird to me.

rjs246

It seems that 17 points is the magic number defensively across the league. Most teams win when they allow 17 or less points. Most teams lose when they allow more than 17 points.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

It's only 4 less than 21.  That's too close to not have any significance with regards to Sean Taylor.

Rome

Yeah, I figured as much.  Still, it annoys me whenever I hear them spouting off about not giving up more than 17 points, though.  The idea should be to shut the fargers out, not give up two touchdowns and a field goal every game.  I mean, I know it is, but if a defensive coordinator is happy with giving up that many points on defense then something's wrong here.

Don Ho

Does the 17 point avg. include the special teams farg up in Green Bay and Feeley's 7 ints in two weeks?

Defense ain't so bad after all.

The defense was actually very good this year.  The deserved criticism is from the lack of game-changing big plays.  They were solid but unspectacular.  So, again... turnovers would have made a big difference.

mussa

they were solid. very good defensive teams create turnovers and are consistent. look at the great defenses...did they not produce lots of turnovers?
