Regarding Heckert, there's now a question as to how things will go for him in Philly.  There are whispers of strain between Heckert and team president Joe Banner.  As we hear it, Eagles owner Jeff Lurie recommended Heckert to the Falcons -- and the fact that Heckert's current team would try t0 help him leave might have spooked Falcons owner Arthur Blank.

NFL insider: QB McNabb wants another playmaker

One of the hottest NFL rumors this offseason, besides the coaching carousel, is the question of whether the Bengals will trade four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Johnson.

One of the top suitors could be the Philadelphia Eagles, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb wants another playmaker on offense, and it's conceivable, the paper reported, that the Eagles might be interested in orchestrating a trade for Johnson - who just turned 30 Wednesday.

Johnson, who has six consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons, is represented by agent Drew Rosenhaus, widely believed to be the source of all Johnson-related rumors.

Still, the Eagles would make an intriguing trade partner for the Bengals if they were to choose to move Johnson. Philadelphia has a wealth of defensive players who could help the Bengals bolster the perennially weakest part of their team.

Anyone else catch Sheldon Brown on Sports Final last night?  When asked about not having enough playmakers on defense and being dead last in takeaways, he replied "What good are turnovers when the offense doesn't do anything with them?"  ouch

He also said they should have cut Trotter earlier.  Cutting him at the end of August screwed with the locker room....
