Quote. I think that as long as a quarterback and the receivers are on the same page, which I felt like we finished that way, that good things can happen and you can go to a Super Bowl and win it."

It's crap like that that makes this team with this head coach the most frustrating Eagle team ever.

Brandon Marshall would've been nice. I wanted them to draft him the year he came out. I think he went in the 3rd.

You say that two posts below a Rick Kotitie quote.
Do you remember that idiot?

Just to be dicks, as soon as Sean Taylor is officially dropped from the taterskins roster/salary cap, I'd like the see the Eagles sign him to a 1 year contract (posthumously) and have photochopped images of him in an Eagles uni hanging up all over the stadium.

That very well may be the single greatest idea ever.  I mean, E-V-E-R.

I didn't read any of the posts after it was asked, but Fitzgerald is a rumor because he's going to want a huge new deal (and deservedly so) and Cardinals probably wouldn't want to attach that onto his already large 3rd pick contract.

Braylon Edwards or Brandon Marshall?  Too early on Calvin Johnson but I think he's going to be pretty good too...

QuoteDS: The offense had one of its strongest years in some important statistical categories, yet still scored 17 or fewer points in 10 games. The red zone was an area you mentioned several times. Moving forward, after you have reviewed the red zone, how can the Eagles specifically improve in that area?

AR: "You want to make sure that you don't shoot yourself in the foot with either drops or penalties or sacks. You're always going to have a handful of throws you'd like to have back and a handful of calls that you would have liked to have called different. So, you go back and you've got to straighten those things out, add a lot more concentration when things are louder and faster down there in the red zone.

WTF? RUN THE fargING BALL IN THE RED ZONE YOU fargING IDIOT!

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

the red zone is 20 yards you know...he might just have to pass

I don't think they are as good as Fitz, but they are good choices. They definitely have a lot going for them right now. The point is though I just can't see a team giving up what it is going to cost to get Fitz. His value right now is easily top 5 pick value. Whatever that is. Possibly more.

Just get Chad Johnson or Roy Williams so we can put this damn receiver issue to bed. I think each can be had for the value of a late first round pick. Meaning either a late first or a a 2nd rounder and a player/future pick. Their production to the Eagles is going to far exceed the value we gave up to get them.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

can't really argue with him here...it's not like they had a #1 when they went to the SB that one year

The frustrating thing is, if he wasn't such a stupid farging coach, he would've made the SB in 2002 with James Thrash, Todd Pinkston, Freddie Mitchell and Chad Lewis.  He's right, you can go to the SB and win it without a bonefide #1.  If you can farging coach, which he clearly can't.  Belichek did it a couple of times.  Good Coach.  Reid hasn't done shtein.  Bad Coach.  Fire the coach.
Anyone but Reid.

You can  win a SB w/o a bonefide #1 WR if you also have an excellent defense AND special teams. Which the Eagles don't. A stud WR will allow another area a little slack but there are a number of holes before going to a SB, much less winning it, is a reasonable possibility.

didnt fitz mention something during the season? or was it a rumor? i remember reading somewhere that he was unhappy that the cardinals are more of a running team now and he wanted to be traded. i think that was back when leinart was still the QB.

McNabb seems to disagree with Andy on this issue:
QuoteNow that the season is over and we are concentrating on 2008, I hope we are able to secure some playmakers in all three phases of the game. Maybe some of those playmakers are already on the roster but have struggled with injuries, myself included, that have held us back a little.

You can't argue with how the Patriots went outside their locker room and stocked up on playmakers last year. It certainly helped to have Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, Wes Welker and Adalius Thomas making plays for them all year.

I'm surprised that anyone would have a problem with me, or anyone else in the organization, expressing a desire to bring in more quality players. We were 8-8. There is room for improvement. This is a competitive sport. It's about putting together the best players, the best team, and giving yourself the best chance to win.

We didn't disrespect anyone when we traded for Takeo Spikes or signed Kevin Curtis last year. I don't think the Patriots were being disrespectful to Troy Brown or Reche Caldwell when they brought in Moss, Stallworth and Welker. Over the past few years, when the 49ers added Nate Clements, the Seahawks added Julian Peterson, the Giants added Plaxico Burress, the Colts added Adam Vinatieri, it was in an effort to add playmakers. In each case the team identified a way to improve and they took action.

I don't think that's being disrespectful to any of my teammates. It's certainly not my intention. I bet that anyone who wants to see the Eagles win – from Mr. Lurie, to the entire locker room, to every Eagles fan who bleeds green would agree.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh look at McNabb whine.  Boooo hooo hooo hooo hooo!

BTW, that's one of the strongest and most well spoken statements I think I've ever seen him make.
