Exactly.  Players with that benefit plus a few years of coaching from Joe Gibbs?  UNSTOPPABLE.

Just to be dicks, as soon as Sean Taylor is officially dropped from the taterskins roster/salary cap, I'd like the see the Eagles sign him to a 1 year contract (posthumously) and have photochopped images of him in an Eagles uni hanging up all over the stadium.

Where did all this Larry Fitzgerald talk come from anyway? It doesn't make much sense. All I heard was speculation that he may ask for a trade. Nothing concrete. He is by far their best player, he is still very young, he was a top 5 pick and would take at least that in a trade. I don't see how his value would have dropped. If anything it went up.

You aren't going to get Fitzgerald unless you trade a top 5 pick or two mid first rounders. IMO getting him is far more unrealistic than Chad or Roy. If anyone the Cardinals would probably trade Boldin, not Fitz.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Fitz is a free agent isn't he?
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

im still in shock from that day the eagles did actually acquire TO.

i doubt they ever make a trade for a #1 WR.

i think we are setting ourselves up for a huge disappointment if we think the eagles are going for major upgrades.

Actually, the more I think about it,  Fitzgerald is probably the most valuable receiver in the NFL right now trade-wise.

1. He is only 24
2. No character issues
3. No major lingering injuries
4. He keeps getting better
5. Top 5 receiver in the NFL

What other receiver in the NFL has that much going for him and is that young? Sure Randy Moss, Chad Johnson both had great years, but they don't have near the value that Fitzgerald does. He is 5+ years younger than them and has no character issues or health issues.

Very possible, but I actually think they'll do it this year if McNabb stays. They almost have to. It is obvious that McNabb is getting fed up with this front office bit by bit. The Eagles have to know that getting McNabb a stud receiver will rejuvenate his enthusiasm for playing in Philly, which can only make his play better. Every player should always play their best, but the fact is when you are unhappy in a certain place your play starts to decline. Look at Moss. A rejuvenated McNabb is nothing but a positive for all parties.

They have no excuses either. They didn't make the playoffs.

Braylon Edwards or Brandon Marshall?  Too early on Calvin Johnson but I think he's going to be pretty good too...

The speculation comes from Fitzgerald having triggered  incentives that will push his '08 salary just over $14.5 million. Because the Bidwels are cheap they may try to trade him rather than shell out the money. They also have other players they want to re-sign like Dansby. The only thing is I think  they will still take some cap hit if they trade him. Rumor now is they want to trade Edgerrin James, probably to free up space for other re-signing priorities.

The trade Fitz thing is possible but I wouldn't think it is too likely unless a team gives up a heap in draft picks.

why is everyone so obsessed with those teams? they were great but the bottom line is they won 1 playoff game under rich farging kotite. they were choking dogs.

Buddy's teams were equally as frustrating as the current staff if not more so. They had one of the best defenses of all time and a super athletic QB running for his life behind a no name offensive line. At least Buddy knew the QB needed someone to throw too. Those defenses were fun to watch though.

Buddy was also equally as stubborn, to the detriment of the team, as AR

I don't necessarily agree with that. I think that as long as a quarterback and the receivers are on the same page, which I felt like we finished that way, that good things can happen and you can go to a Super Bowl and win it."

can't really argue with him here...it's not like they had a #1 when they went to the SB that one year

6. Never has had a top 10 QB throwing to him either

Don't forget they didn't win one single playoff game under the cult icon Buddy Ryan, and only one under Rhodes.

Still, this team is just as frustrating to me with how many times they have been to the playoffs and not won a Superbowl. Four championship games for Christ sake. Also, they have needs they never seem to address.
