I haven't bought a DVD in over a year.  At Blockbuster and on Blockbuster online, regular DVD's are still much more popular.

The Kingdom: Disappointing. There was a good plot but it was not given enough attention, IMO. The movie felt rushed and the ending was a let down. I felt like it was incomplete and could have been much better.

5/10

The ending felt rushed to me, but I really liked it, while at the same time....it disturbed me pretty bad.

Butchers Bill

National Treasure 2 - Meh.

The first was was much better.  Hard to enjoy a "PG" action flick.
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

guessing youve never seen snow dogs?
that movie was hard to watch surpisingly, felt bad for the dogs

Rome

Watched a chick flick with the Mrs. tonight that was decent.  Something called Music & Lyrics with Hugh Grant & Drew Barrymore.  The romantic comedy side of it was excruciating but Hugh Grant was hysterical in a role that might as well have been entitled "Andrew Ridgeley From Wham!"

He actually made me laugh several times.  Sadly, whenever Drew Barrymore entered a scene I had to put both fingers in my ears.  The musical numbers were pretty painful although there was a hot slut who was supposed to be Christina Aguilera in the movie who wasn't half bad.  Brad Garrett from Everyone Hates Raymond played a secondary part and wasn't awful and Kristen Johnson from Third Rock From The Sun played Barrymore's sister.  She was better than Garrett and infinitely better than Drew Barrymore.

Anyway, overall it was a mess but there was a lot of 80's stuff in there that made me laugh (Pop-Up Video for one) and again Hugh Grant was excellent in a role that could have been cringe inducing.

Scenes Hugh Grant was in: 4 out of 5 stars.

Scenes where the hot slut was half naked:  5 out of 5 stars.

Everything else including the music, plot, & especially Drew Barrymore:  0 out of 5 stars.

Overall: 2/5 stars.

Decent movies aren't 2/5 stars.

I can't remember a case where certain parts of a movie were good and the remainder was so awful, though.  Grant really was good enough to turn a zero stars movie into a decent flick.

same.  i watched this last night and although there were a couple pretty decent throat-slitting/fight scenes, especially the shower fight, even though i wish you didn't have to see viggo's dong so much, overall it was nothing special.  it's fairly predictable and you never really care about any of them.

rjs246

It seems like people who liked A History Of Violence have also liked Eastern Promises and those that didn't don't. I like A History of Violence so I'm assuming I'll like Eastern Promises.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?
