QB Eagles

Was everyone really convinced that Kearse was good right before the beginning of this season? I don't remember that... I agree with rjs, Brown was clearly the king of bed-shteinters this season.

I'll roll the dice.

Player who shteins the bed: Quintin Mikell (because absolutely none of us see it coming)
Player who opens some eyes: Jason Avant (because absolutely none of us see it coming)

ice grillin you

to shtein the bed dont you have to be at least a good player to begin with...i would never be mad at a quinten mikell because i dont expect anything from him and whatever he gives the team is a bonus imo...i mean hes just a special teamer

MadMarchHare

shtein the bed:  Reggie Brown.  He just doesn't seem to try very hard, quits on plays.  Oh, and he can't catch.
Open some eyes:  JR Reed.  Could be the starting SS next year (why do I follow this farging team?)
Anyone but Reid.

If Reed is starting next year it won't be because he is any good, it will be because this team couldn't find someone who was any better. And that would be pathetic.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Welcome to Reno's world.

Andy Reid was hyping JR Reed in his presser so look forward to seeing your boy out there next year

andy reids pressers are worthless if hes talking about next week...so i wouldnt put much weight into something he says in december with regards to nine months from now

Eagaholic

eye opener:  Celek, especially if Kolb sees any real playing time. Bradley also, but if he plays well I'm not sure it would be totally suprising given the flashes he's shown already.

mattress artist:  Dawk. Hate to say it, an all time favorite, hope I'm wrong etc., but it is more likely he'll lose another step and give up plays, (or just be injured again) than regain something of his old form. It would be a shame since the team has little enough leadership as it is.

Bed shteinter: David Akers

Eye Opener: Donovan McNabb

I agree with IGY, and have said it before, that I thik Akers is just about done. The Eagles FO would be doing themselves a serious disservice by not bringing in a kicker who has a legit shot of kicking in the NFL as the "camp body" next year. No more Eric Meng, Tim Duncan and Carlos Martinez types. Akers needs to be pushed and the Eagles need a guy who they can get to know so once Akers finally does shtein himself, they can call this newbie kicker up. Kickers, once they lose that stroke, never seem to get it back. Look no further than The Idiot Kicker. He was great in years past, but these last couple of years worried me. This year was flat out atrocious.

McNabb is going to open eyes because he goes into the off-season healthy for the first time in awhile. No surgeries, no rehab this time. Just training and continuing to get the knee strong and building on how he finished this year. He'll also be motivated by the talk of his demise this year. And this is a total leap of faith on my part, why I'm thinking this might be booze talking, but I think they get him another weapon to help. A healthy, determined McNabb with weapons is what we'll see.

Kill me now.

How many drops did he have this year? I didn't see every game but it seemed less of an issue this year than it was last year.

You got 100% support on this Phreak. From me, anyway.

I heard somewhere that Donovan's offseason training techniques are really awesome.

I heard he's going to change his offseason training to improve flexibility instead of trying to bulk up and get stronger.

Which is what I think he should have been doing his whole career.
