Vandermeer can scrap, Eager cant.  Eager stirs shtein up and gets the other team on edge and taking stupid penalties.  All in all, its a nothing trade like you said IGY.  I still think eager ends up a 15 goal a year guy if he's given 3rd line minutes.

It's a meh trade but when Eager got his ass kicked by 41 year old Roberts it's time to move on.

i agree with that.  i think it sets up another trade of a d man.  Kukkonen hasnt played much recently, Jones has been a vadge since the Bergeron hit, Picard hasnt done anything well since getting called up, Hatcher might actually fetch a decent return, Smith is ok but not a savior.  This team needs offense on teh blue line, and misses what Joni offered

Did you seriously just predict that the Flyers won't make the playoffs?  Wow.

i said before the season that making the playoffs should be their goal and that they werent guaranteed of that so im not sure what the big deal of saying they wont make it now is

16 teams make it.  The Flyers will be one of them.

first of all only eight teams make it from the east...secondly the flyers currently sit in 10th place

Went down to the game tonight, fun game to be at aside from the outcome. Flyers were outskated the 1st half of the game, were slow as farg getting to pucks, gave up the blue line way too easy, and generally looked like shtein, then they turned it on, then the penalties started. The officiating tonight was downright horrendus regardless of which team you were rooting for. There should have - without a doubt - been no icing call with 15 seconds left, that puck could have been handled. Fans were unreal despite the losing streak and were into it the entire game. You could tell the team got a lift from the crowd.
In general this team isn't skating as hard as they should and you can clearly tell when the efforts there and when it's not.

Another gripe I have with Stevens is why in the world does he opt to shoot first on every shootout? Makes about as much sense as Reid opting to go on Offense first.

The World Juniors started today.  JVR had a goal and assist against Kazakhstan.  Giroux has played well and both teams won.
