It beats having an albatross contract on the books for the last two years of the deal. Either way, it's moot. And I'm going to beat your heathen ass in both fantasy leagues so I'd just be quiet and go back to flirting with igy.

considering they have a self imposed budget and wouldnt spend that money on things they need...yea. Remember by that time you expect Howard and Hamels to get mega deals. Rollins and Utley's contracts are bigger. Less to money to spend on needs.

why would it be a bad deal two or three years from now anyway?

he will be a much better 3rd basemen in three years than wes helms is now
