Curtis is a solid player and I contend the team is no worse off than if they'd re-signed Stallworth.  They're actually more similar players than you give Curtis credit for.

Gocong is nothing special, but he's no worse than Dhani.

Curtis is arguably the 2nd-best WR to play for the Eagles under Andy Reid, behind T.O.  He's a very good player.  If Brown continues to step up, they would be a somewhat-adequate starting WR combo, something rare in the Reid era.

The fact is you hate on Curtis and routinely call him a "good #3 receiver".  He's better than that.


Gocong, also, is better than you claim.  He's nothing exciting, but he hasn't been a severe liability like Considine.

They had a first crack at Stallworth due to NFL rules.  Curtis wasn't yet a free agent.  From what we know, they offered Stallworth a lowball one-year deal and offered Curtis a big dollar multi-year contract.  So, your logic is flawed.

Plus, seriously, even if Stallworth truly is about 8 times better than Curtis, as you and IGY believe... do you really think Andy Reid would try to sign an injury-prone potsmoking black guy with dreadlocks, or a Wonderlic-acing, great white hope, Mormon?

the sad thing is that the eagles would only sign one or the other...like its a given that they could never sign two wr's in one year
