Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

ill let you read the quote again and you tell me where he even remotely mentions socio economic disadvantages...hell he didnt even mention poor white people in iowa who may be at a disadvantage...all he says is that iowa is smarter because there arent any minorities there

"There's less than 1 percent of the population of Iowa that is African American. There is probably less than 4 or 5 percent that are minorities. What is in Washington? So look, it goes back to what you start off with, what you're dealing with,"

Try reading the whole article and reading the statement his people put out. Face it IGY, african americans have done historically worse in school then crackers.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

The fact is that "African-Americans" (not all "black" people have heritage in Africa - FYI) do worse, yes.

Does a Presidential candidate call that to light?  No.  Frankly, if he wanted to give that sort of statistic, he should have avoided discussing the color of skin at all and pointed to economic reasonings.  Why do black people do worse in school?  MONEY.  They live in poorer areas with crappier schools... as a generality.

Biden came across as believing that black people are of inferior basic intelligence, whether he meant it or not, and it was a stupid thing to say.

So, this article by ultra-racist Pat Buchanan actually fairly accurately depicts the downfall of the Republican party, which really began when Communism died.  If you can read around his obvious biases and focus on the fiscal aspects of the party, it's a good read.  Actually, it's a good read anyway, because his polarizing views are real, even when they're abhorrent, so it's much more interesting than a made-for-TV douche like Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter.

Well then...if it's true that they have done worse, is it not then true that maybe Iowa has higher scores and such because of less minorities then say a state with more heavily populated cities? The thing Biden forgot to do, and what always gets him in trouble, is he never clarifies what he's trying to say. He's an intelligent guy, I'm sure in his mind he wasn't saying black people (or other minorities for that matter) are stupid just because they're black or Hispanic or whatever. He was pointing out the fact that those minorities have done historically worse in school then whites, for whatever reason that may be (and I agree that it is mostly because they are at a disadvantage from birth), and that's why a low number of minorities=higher scores. I don't think in that article anywhere did he say "Iowa's scores are higher because they don't have a lot of black people. Black people are stupid because they are black." No. You're taking his quote and lynching him on it because you think he intended it in a racist way.

Fact is he's the best Dem. candidate for the presidency, but because he doesn't BS his way around like the others he's not going to win. I'm pretty liberal but in all honestly I'd rather have McCain, who seems pretty moderate, in office more then I'd want Hillary or Obama.

I'll just write in a vote for Colbert and be done with next year. Not happy with any of the candidates.

FF-I said that pretty much exact same thing in my earlier post. Black people tend to be at a disadvantage when it comes to quality of schools they go to and teachers. Do the really good teachers ever want to teach in a crappy inner city school with terrible supplies? No. The education system in America is highly flawed. The one thing i like about Delaware is they have school choice. Anyone in the state can choose to go to any public school they want to. So the inner city kids can come out to the "nicer" suburban high schools. The one problem with it that I've seen is schools like my high school Concord aren't willing to send buses outside of their "territory", so anyone who choices in has to find their own way to school. I choiced in and I was fortunate enough to have my mom drive me everyday/eventually be able to drive myself. Not all inner city kids are as lucky as I am. There is another "suburban" high school close to Wilmington, Mount Pleasant, that ends up with a lot of the city kids, but it's definately not as highly reguarded for its education like Concord is. But I am in total agreement with you that most people from the cities, whether they're black, white, asian, hispanic, etc, will tend to do worse in school becauise of crappier schools/teachers/supplies/etc.

all he had to say was in inner cities such as wash dc the schools are in a shambles in this country...and we need to find a way to put them on an even playing field with school systems such as the majority of those in iowa

and like i said this is the second time biden has made at best insensitive and at worst racist remarks against minorities...like i said i liked the guy he still may be a good person and he proabably isnt a racist but hes ignorant as hell and that kind of person shouldnt be in the white house...that said i dont think he should be banished for life....in fact barring any further trangressions of the like i wouldnt have a problem with him being secretary of state...in fact he would be a damn good one

Actually, Secretary of State would be just about the worst post in the cabinet for him, if he's always coming across the wrong way and saying the wrong things.

This is nuts. I know a whole lot of black people that are smarter than me.

Here's another "Find out who you should vote for" websites.  More complex than the other one.

My top 5 on this one:

1.  Fred Thompson (wouldn't vote for him in a million years)
2.  John McCain
3.  John Edwards
4.  Duncan Hunter (Why has he missed nearly a third of congressional votes?  Not a chance.)
5.  Barack Obama
