Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

The Sixers are the 5th-most important professional team to me in Philly, behind the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Soul.

Pro basketball is more about individual players than teams.

I know you're obviously alluding to racial motivations as always, but honestly, I'm just not into the whole way the league's set up.  I love watching college basketball when I get a chance... it's a MUCH better game.

Jason Smith played well lastnight, he's faster than I thought he was going to be. Attendance at Sixers games is going to be dreadful this season.

hunt

attendance was dreadful last season too.

hopefully mo realizes this is a rebuilding year & give guys like williams, carney, & smith some good minutes instead of playing slugs like willie green, ollie, & booth.

lemonade was a popular drink and it still is

how did they win at Boston last night?

ice grillin you

boston is a veteran laden sqaud playing for a title this year....sixers are a bunch of young bucks playing for jobs and playing time...not really that suprising that something like that would take place in the preseason...simply put boston took the night off

Quote76ers waive rookie Derrick Byars

By Marc Narducci
INQUIRER STAFF WRITER

In a move that wasn't surprising, the 76ers waived rookie swingman Derrick Byars today. Byars, a rookie from Vanderbilt, had appeared in only one preseason game, scoring just two points in a 91-90 loss to the New Jersey Nets.

He had been suffering from a back injury during training camp. But more difficult was the crowded situation at the wing positions for the Sixers.

Byars was selected by Portland with the 42d pick in the 2007 NBA draft and was acquired on draft night by the Sixers for the rights to Petteri Koponen, who was the 30th overall pick, and cash considerations.

The Sixers' roster stands at 15, the maximum allowed by the NBA.

Trading Steven Hunter might be the best move Billy King ever made.  The magnitude of his suckage can't be measured using traditional methods.

Hunter was actually pretty good for the Sixers.

I can't believe I missed this gem.

There is no way you're for real dude.  None whatsoever.

Per Rotoworld:

The Sixers got more bad news about Samuel Dalembert recently, as he's back in a walking boot as he tries to overcome a stress fracture in his foot. I put up some sarcastic blurbs regarding Dalembert's injury when it first happened, as he and the Sixers both kept saying that he was going to be fine and there was nothing to worry about. Well, they are clearly worried at this point and the reality is that they may end up having to start rookie Jason Smith at center until Dalembert gets healthy. And when Dalembert will be ready to go is anyone's guess.

Projected starting five: PG Andre Miller, SG Louis Williams, SF Andre Iguodala, PF Reggie Evans, C Samuel Dalembert/Jason Smith

So lets see here around: Miller 14/game, Williams 13/game, Iggy 20/game, Evans 6/game, Smith 8/game
Bench Korver 12/game Carney 8/game

81 points per game if they are lucky. Crazy
