For the armchair commissioners who feel that the punishment was not severe enough, what do you think it should have been?

I would have included a 1-game suspension for Belichik.

Agree.  Plus make the loss of a 1st round pick no matter how they finish the year.  That 1st IF they make the playoffs is ridiculous, not that it will come int play.

how does reno mahe get quoted in that article?

Philly press interviews Reno about return to the team, asks off-handed question about Pats.  Reno gives juicy answer that gets printed in the DN sensationalist article about the Pats.  National media picks up juicy quote from DN.

BTW, I agree with those who think Belichick should have been suspended.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Dismantle the Pats organization, send Tom Brady to the Browns, burn everyobe else.

The Patriots should have been sent to the CFL for the Argonaughts for a year.

I think the distinction is that everyone does it but not with a camera on the opposing teams sideline without even a disguise...

Bad news for NFL linebackers, good news for soap opera fans: Ricky Williams is planning another comeback.

The suspended running back is eligible to seek reinstatement by the NFL after Oct. 1 and will do so, his attorney said Friday.

lets see...wade wilson takes HGH and gets 4 games. what was he going to do? super steroid coach? if he gets 4 games and he isnt even the head coach or a coordinator, Belichick deserves at least that much. stealing signals is one thing but as it has been pointed out by the various articles....this was beyond the good old stealing signals. and the pats have a history of doing this....and i believe i heard on the radio today that just this past week, before the jets game, they were warned by the NFL to cut it out and still were caught. 4 games and a guaranteed loss of one of their first round pick.

Exactly what I said earlier.  Guys gets suspended for cheating by using drugs and get four games.  Belichick gets a game for doing far worse?

NFL double standards are worse than drug laws.

QuoteBut Miami Dolphins quarterback Trent Green was among those doubting the sincerity of Belichick's apology, comparing the coach to the megalomaniacal Marine played by Jack Nicholson in the movie "A Few Good Men."

"Belichick is sitting there, and you know he is getting peeved that he is even in there -- the audacity to bring him in and question him," Green said, laughing. "The visual I have is that eventually Belichick kind of snapped and said, 'You're darn right I (did)."'

They should have confiscated his library of tapes. News film of early morning swat team raids kicking in the doors of the team offices, his house and his girl friends house would have been fun to watch.
