Nevermind.  I just looked up the Gameday script.  So Rowand was trying to stretch a double but Smith held up Howard at third instead of sending him - then Howard broke for home and got thrown out.

he totally dogged his ass towards the ball.  he made no effort to get it and was as surprised as anyone when rowand came out of nowhere.  "speed kills" - yeah it's killin' those of us watching.
