I can't stand Larry but to say he's nowhere near a "borderline hall of famer" is crazy.

5-time All-Star
NL MVP
14 playoff appearances and a World Series win
Needs 20 more HRs to reach 400
Over .300 hitter lifetime from each side of the plate

I'm not saying he's a lock, but he'll get some consideration...

ice grillin you

thank you easy...and for the record i dont like him either...but just because you dont like someone doesnt mean you should say hes not as good a player as he is or call him a fag

He's Dale Murphy.  He's a good player who had a nice run for 8-10 years and that's it.

He's no Hall of Famer, borderline or otherwise.

BigEd76

So Dale Murphy doesn't get HOF consideration either?  They aren't even the same type of player anyway.  Murphy was a power-hitting OF with decent speed and compares to Shawn Green from a few years back.  Chipper is a 5-tool player and has never struck out more than 100 times in any season.  Dale also got a lot of attention because he was the only good player on brutal teams.  Except for a 3-year run in the early 80s, those Braves teams of 1976-1990 were worse than the Phillies...

Rome

There's lot of players who get "consideration" who don't belong in the Hall of Fame, Ed.

Larry would be one of them.  His numbers, especially in this era, certainly don't warrant a Hall of Fame induction, bro.

Oh, and one other thing for Mr. Grandiose over there. . . where did I ever suggest that Jones wasn't a good major league player?  I never said he sucked or even close to it.  He is a fag, though.   ;D

PS: Dale Murphy's career numbers are almost identical to Larry's.  Seven-time all-star, two time MVP, 8-10 years of greatness, close to 400 home runs (in an era when home runs were real, not garbage like they are today).  If he doesn't belong (which he doesn't) then neither does Larry.

Is this seriously an argument about whether or not Chipper Jones will get any consideration whatsoever for the Hall of Fame?  What the farg is wrong with you people?

its called sports...look it up

and someone tell romey that chipper jones is still playing before he says he isnt making the hall of fame

and the fact that we are discussing his candidacy and so have a lot of other people makes him a borderline guy

remember too the guy is a 3b...theres only like 10 of them in....hes one of the best third basemen ever...that by default makes him at minimum a borderline HOF guy

Larry has a vagina. I don't care about his numbers. He's a fag.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

it's interesting that fag isn't filtered anymore...fag
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Rome

It will be now.

:-D

And will someone please tell IGY that his effusive praise for players who don't play for Philly teams is a given.  There's no need for him to lobby for Romes such as Larry Jones anymore.  Please?
