Now THAT is some useful information.

I've done Atkins in the past, and I know it works, but I'm now having issues with craving some of the things it leaves out of the diet. I know I can ramp up my workouts and eat less, as a general rule, but it helps to hear the specifics from somebody who has done it.

Thanks, Phreak!

No prob, man. I thought about doing Atkins, but I love bread. I used to eat it all the time...I could live off of sandwiches. So now I just eat a brand called Holsum Liter Wheat because the carbs are like 9 per slice. Basically any whole grain breads will do.

Also, the two things I avoid in foods and drinks now are; bleached flour and high fructose corn syrup. Those two things pack on the pounds.

The only time i have any of the HFCS is when I have a Gatorade once a week.

I tried Atkins and South Beach to see if it worked - figured the high protein intake wouldn't affect my muscle gains. Neither worked well, I might have lost 2 lbs. a month. I use this stuff called Stimerex which is insane. I have zero cravings and going to the gym isn't such a chore. Of course, its been banned because it contains ephedra but thanks to the wonder that is the internet its still easy to come by.

Great shtein, Jay. Real happy for you bro.

But I swear, if this changes your tailgating drinking habits, you're a dead man.  >:(

i luv me sum fish oil.
My pops swears by fish oil.  He got it for his heart, one awsome side effect is not only does it cut down on plaque formations on your arteries, but his dentist was shocked by him not having any plaque in his teeth for the past year.  Ususally the dental assistant gives him crap about flossing and how much plaque he has, but since he started taking omega 3, he has none.

I'm going to start taking it because if it prevents plaque in your teeth and heart, i would assume it would prevent plaque from forming in your brain which is supposedly the cause of Alzheimers.  We have a family history of it, so i might as well start early with prevention.

I stay away from HFCS any more...but I think I've discovered something almost as bad:

I go to the gym 6 days a week and do 45 minutes of cardio (elliptical or treadmill) and then a free-weights session of 40 minutes. I kept basically the same routine since I started there.

Ignore everything else. This is having a greater impact on the situation than the other shtein combined.

Yeah, I tuned out the "fad" workouts and went straight to the basics of cardio and retaining + building lean muscle mass. In the beginning it was almost information overload for me because you read so much now on working out and dieting. So I just went simple and hard and it works the best for me.

Sus,

That Jones is some good stuff. They put out some crazy ass flavors too. I tried the turkey and stuffing shtein a few years ago in Texas...disgusting, but it did taste like turkey and stuffing.

Negative, bro. I can still throw 'em down. I quit drinking while I was busting it in the gym, but whenI went on vacation I picked back up. I've still got it. :yay

Cardio, some weights, simple and hard should work for everyone. Even more importantly, it's a long term solution rather than a quick gimmicky diet fix. Dieting is gay and doesn't solve the real problem. I'm genuinely happy to hear you've dropped all that weight without attributing it to some idiotic diet fad. Nice work.

In more important news, I was in DC/Northern Virginia this weekend and after living in Boston for three years the sight of DC-area girls walking around almost brought tears to my eyes. Goddammit people in Boston are farging ugly. And fat.

Yep.  90 minutes 6 days a week, and you'll be good to go.
