The Iggs looked like they missed the flight to Baltimore as they got poleaxed 29-3 by the Ravens.

The good:
- Celek really impressed me. I know it's early, but if I were Little John Smith, I'd try to get back on the field ASAP.

- Bloom looks like the real deal. As long as he stays healthy, he should be the answer at KR/PR. When Moats came in for Bloom, there was a huge difference between the two. Bloom reminded me of Brian Mitchell, while Moats reminded me of Reno Mahe.

- Rocca has a catapult for a leg. after getting past the first punt (33 yds), he launched punts of 45, 56 (called back), 65, and 50 yards. If he's as accurate as he is strong, Dirk's days in Philly are over.

- Gocong ran with the 1st team. His tackling needs work, but I like his speed.

- Abiamiri looks like a good pick by the Iggs. He had 4 tackles last night and was around the ball a lot.

- Barksdale has some game, although I think he wore down late. He also may have gotten away with pass interference on a deep ball, but it's cool. He'll get a phantom PI call against him at some point.

- Kolb showed a lot of poise in the pocket (and promise), but he looked most effective from the shotgun.

- Tony Hunt won't go down on the first hit. He looks like he'd be a good 3rd down back (so far).

The Bad:
- The O-line stunk last night. Way too much penetration and too many sacks.

- McCoy (68) should've been cut at the end of the 1st quarter. He's terrible.

- The D-line looked bad. they gave up yardage by the chunk while getting very little pressure on the QB. There were a lot of "almost" sacks last night. I thought Mike Mamula re-signed with the Eagles. I didn't see any improvement against the run, either.

- Tony Hunt gave up a sack with a poor block on a Ravens LB. That can be worked out.

- Ilaoa looked like garbage last night. 1 step, then he got popped. He also fumbled the rock and was partially responsible for another fumble.

- TKO got shaken like a martini by Todd Heap early in the game. Shouldn't be a problem, though.

- Tank Daniels looked more like a VW bug as he got manhandled last night.

Did you notice...

- Ike Reese sounded like he was ready to put on the pads after the cheap shot on Rocca.

- Avant looked almost as upset as Moats was after he broke his ankle.

- If AJ threw down the middle of the field while he played. If he did, I didn't see it.

So I'm over 12 hours late with this....I'm as out of practice as the Eagles looked. And it's preseason.

Thanks Text!

I didn't see or read the game on the internet.

Thanks for the heads up. I also didnt' feel like reading the game on the game thread.

I'm most interested to see what this Bloom character can do on the field come opening day and beyond. Takeo seems like the talk of the town.

I'd like to see if Avant is going to be a big part of 3rd downs this year. I hope he can be that receiver.
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

Those were the net yards, right?  There were a few punts of over 70 yards that were returned for 20 since he was outkicking the coverage...

I'm not certain, but you may be right.

I'm not sure which phrase is the lesser of two evils "starting QB AJ Feely" or "reminds me of Bobby Hoying."

Scott Young didn't look good.  Maybe I'm just so used to seeing Andrews...

He was playing hurt.  Usually, he's an impenetrable force out there.
