The Phils won't spend too much. Gotta resign Howard and Hamels, probably will go after a new 3B and some new parts to the pen. They are contractually locked into rotation (King, Myers, Kednrick, Eaton, Moyer), so you'd have to eat some money or something to make a change there. And remember, they have that self imposed salary cap so Claire Bents can still afford her delux country club membership.

I was thinking the same thing. The Phils need to at least offer him a boatload of cash or else it will be a crying shame. I don't care if Bourn is ready or not; Rowand is just absolutely clutch and hits so well in the 5 spot. The Phils needed to create some separation and he comes up with a HR.

So is Moyer under contract for next year too? I thought it was only a one year deal? Is it an option or an additional year? I guess when you pitch 75 MPH you don't have to worry about your arm falling off.
