obsess much?

Any minute thing I can do to get rich people off of their high horses is time well spent as far as I'm concerned.

keep up the crusade bro, you're doing good work there.  I'm sure Oprah suffers at least a smidge on your account

that Frey guy is a fraud, she was right to dress him down.  plus, his writing sucks.  he's a flash in the pan.  Oprah is eternal.

Do you even bother pretending like you have a penis?

I don't care if I'm helping or hurting her. If that were the point I'd never say a farging thing. Oprah represents everything that this country loves, without representing anything that this country needs.  Instead she's a spokesperson for rich people picking and choosing who gets what and what should be heard. She is everything that's wrong with us without representing anything that's right about it. The rich are supposed to be just one of the many. Instead they are the end-all, be-all. She tells everyone what to read. What to care about. Who to vote for. Do you defend Bill Gates with such vigor? I would doubt it, but if you do you are betraying a lot of the things you cyber-scream about.

You love Oprah because she champions causes that you approve of. Fine. But for someone of wealth (especially wealth garnered by pop-culture randomness) to have her kind of influence is never good. Ever.

Kidd Chris show gets OJ
QuoteJUICE SQUEEZES HELMET?

There's video of an interview of O.J. Simpson on TMZ.com, and the folks who did the interview made the mistake of allowing people to call in and ask question.

The video is right here.

Says one caller:  "My kid Chris was wondering, do you think it was a bigger feat to break 2,000 yards in one season, or slice two necks in one night?"

O.J.'s response, to the clearly audible question:  "I'm having a little trouble, Kevin, hearing you."

Says another:  "It was reported back during the famous chase that when on in '94 . . . that you were squeezing your helmet."

Says O.J.:  "That I was what?"

Juice, when are you going to just go away?

Get fat, pay more for your health insurance.  That's the way things ought to be.  You want the freedom to kill yourself?  Fine, just don't make the rest of us pay for it.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Good idea on paper but private insurance companies will use it as an excuse to jack the average customer.  According to the "official" weight chart I am supposed to be like 180 pounds (I am 6'4).  Christ, I'd be beyond dead at 180.
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

Yeah my chart says I'm supposed to be 170. I haven't seen 170 since High School.

Thats pretty much how life insurance works.

I would have no problem with health insurance working the same way.

180? jesus, I'm about 5'9 and I almost weigh 180. That's rediculous.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I can't see this concept taking off at all in the group employee benefit market at all.  If you are going to penalize one unhealthy lifestyle, you are going to have to crack down on all of other high-risk lifestyles such as those who drink, smoke, use drugs, overly sexually active or are involved in other high risk activities like scuba diving, etc. This will leave you with about 3% of the population who wrap themselves in bubble wrap, while hiding in the basement and thereby defeat the purpose of group insurance.

It reminds of this poem:

When the insurance company came for the fatties,
I remained silent;
I was not a lard ass.

When they jacked up the rates for smokers,
I remained silent;
I was not a smoker.

When they came for the high-risk sexual participants,
I did not speak out;
I could not get laid in a whore house.

When they came for the casual drinker,
there was no one left to speak out.
