And of course Zagurski pitches a 1-2-3 9th.

microcosm of this team...

the 8th inning = late august and the playoff push

the 9th inning = september after they are elminated

That was borderline poetic

LOL at Baberaham swinging at a first pitch after Cordero walked Ruiz on four pitches.

It's amazing how little today's players understand the game.

Also - that was a fantastic play on Bourn's part.  First he got a hit, then he stole second and then basically stole third on Coste's groundout.  Too bad it was academic in the end, though.

I don't understand the short leash on Romero either. Yeah, he gave up two runs on a grounder up the middle that just got by Rollins, but no one has really hit him hard yet they pull him for Mesa with 2 outs instead of just letting him pitch out of the jam.

He is probably their best reliever (at least right now; maybe tied with Madson), and he never gets an opportunity to pitch out of jams. Sure, I could see if he was great against lefties and horrible against righties, but I think he has them both hitting under .200 against him so far.

And Zagurski in clutch situations? Come on. Chalk up that loss to stupidity in clutch situations. I think most teams would win scoring 6 runs at home. Not here though.

might be the blessing in disguise needed to convince Pat Gillick to sell, sell, sell
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Good times.

Manuel butchers yet another late inning situation.
Adam Eaton gives up 4 runs in 6 innings and that's considered good for him.
The best player on the team breaks his hand will now be replaced by Abraham Nunez.

Potential Ewing Thoery here, but in reality, you can't win with a bottom of the order consisting of Helms/Dobbs, Ruiz, Nunez and the pitcher.

I know igy's happy.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Certainly great news to wake up to!!

Jesus Christ.

Best case Utley said less than a month which really means about 6 weeks. Say hello to Babe Nunez playing 2nd. And now Charlie really has to figure out what to do with the line-up.

And of course when they win, the Mets win. When they lose, the Mets lose.

Those are the only 3 combo's I can see him doing - and I DO NOT want him hitting Rollins 3rd because Jimmy doesn't swing well there. I think I move Rowand to 3rd and Burrell to 5th.

Don Ho

last combo looks like the best bet.

this really sucks.  this day just keeps getting worse.

poor kids are gonna feel my wrath at basketball practice tonight.

Perhaps we were all rapists and murderers in a previous life  and are now being punished into following this farging shteinbag loser team. It just ain't fair.
