Now Kyle Drabek needs Tommy John surgery.  yay

Shocking that a Phillies pitching prospect would come up lame.  Shocking, I say.

Considering they'll probably trade Carlos Corassco for Matt Morris, the farm system is looking pretty good.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Munson

Please sign Ryan Howard long term. He missed two weeks and still has 27 homers.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Howard is pretty good these days. Hell, Wes Helms even hit a homerun. World Series!!

I'm more impressed that he's up to 27 HR / 78 RBI /.272 after his horrendous April.

And, yes, sign him now, please.

The black Adam Dunn has two home runs, a single and five runs batted in tonight and it's only the fifth inning.

He now has more rbi's than games played.

Amazing.

Amazing.

Adam Dunn wishes he could hit like Ryan Howard.

Howard is going to kill someone with a line drive before he's done.

Geo.

You heard me gripe about this last night, but wheels or no wheels this padre group of announcers makes me sick.  HOMERS.  Tony Gwynn is actually not bad but the other dork is sickening.   Did you here him on Bradley's triple with his "C'mon!"?   Send down Vince Scully.

He's a wanna-be Ron Santo.  You'd think Santo was still playing, or at least in the bleachers with a big beer, cheering on the Cubbies.  He's entertaining.

But, yeah, these guys are annoying.  Not Braves-announcers annoying (or Wheels-annoying), but annoying.

I am so glad you brought up the brave announcers.  my dad is a huge braves fan and he always makes fun of those goons.  He'll call me and say things like "We're coming back" or "Chipper just got us another run" mocking the TBS crew.

All said and done, Petco does look like a cool place.  I just missed the Phillies last July.  I had a meeeting in San Diego about three blocks from Petco but it was during All-Star week.  Phils were in town the following week.

Whenever I was to annoy my wife I do a Skip Carey impression.  I've actually gotten her to throw shtein at me to make me stop.

Also - regarding the Padres announcers, that last 1/2 inning was a doozie.  Burrell smoked one off the pitchers glove, Greene happen to be standing behind him, caught it, flipped it to the second baseman who then doubled off Burrell with a throw to first.

It was an above average play but the reaction of the pbp idiot was ridiculously overboard.   Gwynn is pretty awful as a color guy as well.
