Scott Graham really got a bad rap in Philly.  I listened to him on MLB.TV & the XM broadcasts and I thought he did a great job.

I was in the minority among Phillies fans, at least the closet cases who post on the EMB, anyway.

"They" didn't let Graham go. Wheels wanted to do play by play again, and Franzke was cheaper to keep as the radio guy. Simple.

"They" should have kept him - same point, different grammar.

SunMo

he was corny, hackey, and had the worst homerun call in the history of man.

what was there to like?

ice grillin you

I'm saying your two options are Harry and Wheels. If Harry dies or leaves, then it's Wheels. Even though Harry is old and can't really see anymore, he's still 1000 times better than Wheels ever will be.

oh harry is one trillion times better than wheels...i dont even hate harry...but he is really losing it....harry makes me sad to listen to now cause of how pathetic hes gotten in his making blatant mistakes...its not a dislike or like thing its a pity thing....and who want to see a legend like that fall off so hard...its a willie mays situation now

and ive come around big time on sarge...i dont think hes great or antyhign but hes so bad hes good in a train wreck kinda way to the point that hes very entertaining and id rather hear him than harry at this point

id love to see scott franzke take over for harry...hes excellent imo

and im with sun on palmer he was brutal
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

I'm not saying Scott Graham was Vin Scully, guys.  I'm just saying he wasn't nearly as bad as he was made out to be.

And considering Wheels is omnipresent now, I'd gladly take Graham and his chick-like histrionics any day of the week over that douchebag.

i am serious when i say this....sarge is a better announcer than harry right now

and wheels is without a doubt the worst announcer to ever be in this city and id have to think about it but hes probably in the top 3 ive ever heard

in conclusion sarge haters can go to hell

I will agree with you on this one.

It almost seemed like someone flipped a switch on sarge, he went from a bumbling fool, to actually being pretty insightful in a matter of a few days. I've actually enjoyed listening to him for the past couple of weeks.

Like Hitler would ever broadcast for a loser franchise like the Phillies.

The Yankees, on the other hand. . .

1. Harry Kalas, while obviously slipping, could hurl insults about my mother for 9 innings and I would still worship him. As mentioned before, even though his PBP is not there the big calls he makes more than make up for it. I still get goosebumps when I hear big time HR calls come from him.

2. Sarge has grown on me. He started off bad, but has worked himself in nicely. Plus he rips Wheels for being a Hoyda all the time, which I like.

3. Scott Graham was a hack. His voice was forced and fake. His HR call and his goddamn annoying "put one in the win column" ending were mind numbing. Although his HR call for Todd Pratt's blast against Boston in the last year of The Vet was excellent. Have fun doing NFL Europa, Scotty.

4. Scott Franzke is pretty good on radio as PBP. I like him.

5. LA, as a PBP guy, is HORRIBLE. His spot should be on TV with Harry. I would bet that because he doesn't shy away from ripping when ripping is needed, he's hidden on radio.

6. The Phillies can't even set up the broadcasters right. They are incompetent from the top down in every single thing they do. Seriously...name one thing other than the ALS charity they do well.
