Season Ticket Waiting List?

Remember the end of the 2005 seaon, empty seats all over the place.  Lots of Skins and Giants fans in the other seats.  That is the future.

it will never be worse than at the vet...when the eagles were good the vet had a good amount of visiting fans...when a team stinks i dont care what the ticket polices are theres gonna be lots of division fans in the stadium

i support your crusade 100% but the visiting fan argument isnt relevant to anything

People should be forced to sign loyalty oaths before purchasing tickets.  Either you're an Eagles fan and can prove so without a shadow of a doubt or you have no right to even enter the stadium.

That's totally doable.

Apparently, the teetee virus has spread to other NFC East teams: ES.com: The season ticket waiting list myth

QuoteBut did you know that ticket brokers have multiple web sites that post the same tickets? A different web URL does not mean a different company owns that URL. Also, I read that many ticket brokers share commissions so they post on one another's sites to broaden the visibility. Finally, don'tcha think season ticket holders might post on multiple sites to make it easier to sell their tickets? I did this year for financial reasons. My tickets are sold for the coming season.

Besides, if you check out the ticket broker sites and add up the number of tickets available, it is really a very small percentage of tickets. I did it a few years ago. Remember, there are 91,000 seats in FedEx Field. Just a 10 percent resell is over 9,000 seats. I think my count came to just over 3,000 tickets for the Cowboys game and a Giants game. Numbers were very close. And I checked out 20 ticket brokers with the highest volume of hits on Google.

So continue with the conspiracy theories and maybe some of us more logical folks will believe you when you come up with some real facts that the ticket office is selling tickets first to the broker.....think about that?.........with dozens of ticket office people, don'tcha think someone would have spilled the beans to the Post by now? Naw.....that would be logical thinking. Better to make up a story and spread it on the internet where gullible people believe everthing they read.....especially when The Danny owns the team.

Of course, that is silly, but what about this:
1) No individual can hold the rights to more than 4 season tickets.
2) The season ticket holder is given a photo ID associated with their account
3) When entering the stadium, the STH has his ID scanned along with his ticket.
4) If a STH doesn't show up for at least 4 home games, he loses the rights to his tickets (exceptions considered on a case by case basis)

This would put tickets in the hands of fans, but of course would not stop scalping.  Why wouldn't the Eagles do this?  Because it screws over corporations and ticket brokers, who probably result in more than 50% of ticket revenue.

This has nothing to do with RazorGator or eBay - turnover of season tickets costs the Eagles money - it is called customer acquisition cost...you know, that waiting list you are asking them to maintain?   Why do you think PSLs are so popular?  Not only is it an immediate infusion of cash, but the Eagles get recurring revenue (I don't want to lose my PSL) and put the burden of resale on the customer (I don't want to waste the money I spent on my PSL).

If ticket auctioning is so profitable, why don't the Eagles (or anyone else in the NFL) do it themselves?  If tickets can sell for $200, why do they charge half that?  The reason is that season tickets are guaranteed revenue at a predictable level.  Tickets are priced to ensure renewals, which in the long term maximize profits.  So, again - before you get your panties in a bunch about a conspiracy, follow the money - why would Joe Banner give a cut to a middle man when he could make the profit himself?  The answer is, he wouldn't.

An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

that's the wost idea i've ever heard.  i'm sure the eagles would love getting phone calls from fans explaining why they can't make the game because they have a tummy ache or a bad case of hemerroids.

ice grillin you

yeah that is retarded...you dont punish fans who dont show up you punish ticket account holders for scalping their tickets...people are over thinking this....the eagles are three or four computer keystrokes from finding out who is scalping tickets and who isnt...they dont need any complicated misguided ticket policies put in

Upon reflection, I don't think my loyalty oath suggestion went far enough.  I say the only true way of making sure that loyal Eagles fans are the only ones attending Eagles games is to install computer chips or bar codes in each season ticket holder.  That way whenever we pass through the line we won't need tickets (saving the Eagles more money, of course).  We'll just do a retinal scan or wave our bar codes over the scanner and in we go.

Again - totally doable.

Cerevant

Fine - lose the restriction on attendance, the point is moot anyway.

Scalping helps the Eagles retain their continuing revenue because the buyers have perceived value beyond the cost of the ticket.  This encourages STHs to renew when they might not plan to use the tickets - if they could only get face for resale, why keep them?

The Eagles have what they want: 99.9% of their seats are paid for in advance every year.  Question for Season Ticket Holders - how often have you been able to recoup the entire cost of your package (preseason included) by scalping?  How much profit did you make?

When the team is doing well I'm sure it is easier to do well than when the team is doing poorly.  Guess what - no matter how badly the Eagles play, the team still gets the same amount of money.  When you were giving away tickets 2 years ago, the team made the same profit.  When you got 3 times face for the Linc opener, you still paid the Eagles for two preseason games.

This conspiracy theory is bullshtein if for no other reason than if it were possible to squeeze any more cash out of this cow, you can be sure Banner would find a way to do it without giving someone else a cut.

Haven't been around much.  What's this about the Eagles selling extras to scalpers? :-*

Single game tickets go on sale June 14th.

Hopefully I'll be able to get through to get the tickets for the Dolphins game.

I guess I'll be going after the Bears game...

I hope ttllabtoof gets single game tickets so he can scalp them again and then spend the next year ranting about the Eagles allowing scalpers to purchase tickets.
