28 Days Later got a little preachy at the end, but I thought that Cillian Murphy was outstanding and it was the first movie that addressed the topic of Zombies in an modern movie manner. It didn't have all of the silliness that the George Romero movies did.

Having said that, Dawn of the Dead IS the greatest Zombie movie ever. 28 Days Later just happened to bring the genre into the new millenium nicely.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

I don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but one of the movies responsible for the rebirth of the zombie genre, 28 Days Later, is about to be sequelized. I've got an undead boner.

28 Weeks Later

yeah i've been waiting for this too.  comes out in a few weeks already.  the trailer looks cool.

The Dawn of the Dead remake was pretty good too.

It's not a prequel. It's a remake of Halloween...and will probably be terrible.

Besides the movie being underrated, the soundtrack (probably not your cup of tea) is immensly underrated as well. Opening with Johnny Cash 'When the Man comes around' to the ending with Jim Carrol's 'People who died' - can't think of many movies with a better or more appropriate choice of songs.

You can put any Johnny Cash song recorded within 10 years before his death and put it into any zombie or apocolypse themed movie and it fits. Just run the scene in slow motion.

Plot outline for the original:

QuoteA psychotic murderer institutionalized since childhood escapes on a mindless rampage while his doctor chases him through the streets.

Plot outline for Rob Zombie's:

QuoteA masked psychopath escapes from a mental institution to his hometown on a murderous rampage pursued by his doctor who may be the only one who can stop him.

That has prequel written all over it!

Halloween is the red headed step-child of cheesy 80's horror movies
