I finally got to watch "Casino Royale" last night & thought it kicked some serious ass. I lost all interest in the Bond franchise during the Timothy Dalton/Pierce Brosnan era, but if they can produce future Bond movies in this style, I'd be back on.

I thought Brosnan made a good Bond, but the quality of the writing/movies themselves just wasn't that good.

GoldenEye is pretty awesome though. I also enjoyed The World Is Not Enough a little more then most people did, for some reason.

I thoroughly enjoyed TWINE for one basic reason:  Sophie Marceau.

It didn't have any black people. So no.

Ain't that the truth.  There was a token "extra" reporter here or there in scattered scenes but the rest of that movie was lily white.

Then again, so were most newsrooms 35 years ago.  Nothing shocking there.

Are we talking about the same movie?

LOL - I was talking about All The Presidents Men, not Friday.   ;)

As for the Brosnan Bond films the only one I liked was the one with Michelle Yeoh (Tomorrow Never Dies) and only because she was in it.

Yes please. :drool

I Spit On Your Grave; I Piss On Your Corpse... surprisingly enough  ::), it sucked monkey balls. Didn't get past 6 minutes in, even f'fwding. A new record.
Maybe the voices aren't real, but, they've got some pretty good ideas...

"Happy Feet"

As far as animated films go, it was still awful.  The moral of the story is that if penguins dance enough, us mean environmentally-damaging "aliens" will stop killing/taking/contaminating all their fish.

That, and having to listen to Elijah Wood's whiny voice for so long is awful.

1/5 purely for the quality of animation.  The story is neither mildly amusing nor mildly moving.

the descent - an ok watch but it wasnt a horror movie as billed...in fact there wasnt one scary part...it was like an action movie...can someone explain the ending to me...is her seeing her daughter and the birthday cake basically saying shes in the cave to die and will see her kid in heaven soon

6/10

fast food nation - didnt even really wanna see this as i had read the book and didnt think the book could be pulled off on the big screen...i was pleasently suprised...of course not nearly what teh book was they still did a solid job with it...tho it was hard to get emotionally invested in the characters after reading the book which was ten times more horrifying...btw catalina moreno is a great actress

7/10

American Haunting - based off the true story of the Bell Witch of Tennessee. Movie was half decent but the ending sucked and was historically inaccurate. They wanted to go the surprise route but ruined the movie in the process. 2.5/5

I think it was basically that she had finally, and completely, cracked, and was hallucinating about her kid.

Watched "The Andromeda Strain" the other day.  Pretty decent science fiction from the 1970's era of paranoid space pictures.

The acting was silly and the story was pure swiss cheese but the overall movie was still enjoyable in an unintentionally hysterical way.

2.5/5

PS: There was a baby in the movie who played a survivor.  Every scene they show the kid in he looked petrified with real tears running down his cheeks.  I laughed more at the thought of that kid 30 years down the line going through primal scream therapy over it than anything else.  Good stuff.

she was doing that the entire movie even when she was in the hospital at the start

i thought the point of it at the end was she dreamed that she got out...then woke up and realized she had gotten nowhere and that her end was all but certain and at that point saw her kid which was a symbol that she would see her in heaven soon

im a half wit tho so what do i know

Most of the movie made no sense, so, not understanding the ending is umm, understandable.

Crank rocked.  :yay And the ending was understandable.

And SICK.

National Treasure was just on USA. Best movie ever.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Father Demon

Gridiron Gang, with my boys.  Thought it was a real good "message" movie to watch with the family.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

Saw Night of the Living Dead all the way through for the first time last night. Considering Romero's utter lack of resources he pulled this movie off fantastically. It isn't especially scary, though it did have its moments, but is actually a good snapshot of how different people react to stressful/life threatening zombie attacks. For horror or zombie fans, it's a great watch.

4/5
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?
