Did it feel good to leave Levittown?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

BigEd76

yea...I didn't know there were other cities out there.  Are there other states too?

Seabiscuit36

oh, snap...

Good game by the Flyers to end this year on a positive.  This year sucked, it sucked even more since i found a loophole in Direct TV and Comcast to get the flyers this year and shelled out 150 bucks for the worst season in flyers history.  Yay me

Some of these players should be worried about keeping their own jobs.  Pitkanen for one.

Joni is the most frustrating player we've had since lindros, and Lindros's only problem was his family.  Joni has a very special skillset and the mind of a 12year old.  On the flyersphans site, he's now just being called Corkey exclusively.

Without a doubt  :-D   :paranoid
At least they're in a great position, the most cap room available in the league, early draft postioning no worse than 2nd overall depending on their draft lottery drawing.  A very good ahl system and some very good past drafts.

Look at what Nodl just did:
QuoteSt. Cloud State's Nodl named HCA National D-I Rookie of the Year

St. Cloud State freshman and Philadelphia Flyers prospect Andreas Nodl has been named the Hockey Commissioners Association's National D-I Rookie of the Year. The Vienna, Austria native who was also named the WCHA Rookie of the Year, was impressive in his collegiate debut year, amassing 46 points (18 goals, 28 assists). His 46 points shattered St. Cloud State's rookie scoring record previously held by current New York Ranger Matt Cullen (41 points).

Nodl beat out a stellar rookie field that included Western Michigan's Mark Letestu (PIT), Maine's Teddy Purcell and Quinnipiac's Brandon Wong.

And Mike Ratchuk was part of the MSU team that just won the National Championship.  Both were 2nd rounders,

Giroux the first rounder from last year was just called up to play for the phantoms to give him a chance.  Giroux had something like 140pts this season in Juniors

Downie the first rounder from 2 years ago is leading his team to the Junior championship after leading the Canadian WJ team to gold for the past 2 years.

Parent was picked up in the Forsberg trade and looked pretty good in his NHL debut.

The future for this team is bright, they just need to get rid of Rathje, Gauthier, Sanderson on draft day.  Get Kimmo Timmonen, maybe a Scott Gomez, Briere just scares me but its pretty much assured that the flyers will get Danielle.  I'd even pass on getting Briere and wait till next year for Iginla to hit the market.

Briere & Drury get all misty at the prospect of leaving Buffalo every time they're asked about their impending free agency.

Did anyone else catch that on NBC yesterday?  They were talking about when the Sabres got stranded somewhere while a snow storm blanketed Buffalo and Briere called all the players' wives to make sure they were alright.  The announcers mooed on and on about it.

Gimme a farging break.  If the Flyers throw a max deal at either one of them, I don't give a shtein how much they 'LOVE' Buffalo... they're signing with the Flyers, period.  Oh, and if they 'LOVE'  Buffalo so much, they can live there during the offseason but something tells me that if you're making 8 million dollars a year, then Buffalo would be the last place you'd want to spend your off-season and vacation time.

Seabiscuit36

Let them stay for all i care.  Sure up the D, bring up Downie.  Wait for Iginla, Collect underpants, Profit.

That's debatable.  The Phantoms were the 4th-worst team out of 27 and the guys they lost to the Flyers weren't impact players anyway...

Seabiscuit36

true Ed, but if you look at how many players were lost on callups no other ahl team was anywhere near taht #.  The players moved were pretty good for the phantoms, they might have not translated well right now to the NHL.  Heck look at who they just signed Matsumoto and Greentree.  Matsumoto has played great since he left ncaa.  Greentree is a project but a definite AHL force down the road.

The NHL held the Draft Lottery today, the flyers lost that too and ended up with the #2 overall pick  :-D

48% chance at the #1 pick and they can't even win that.

rjs246
