forget strategically....an area where charlie is the worst in the majors...his best buddie relationship with the players is out of control....i cant believe youd defend charlie in any way...and im someone that wants to castrate every player on the team...but the fact is they need a manager not a best friend...

This team had RISP problems when Bowa was the manager. It's not Charlie. He emptied the bench trying to get someone, anyone, to get a hit with RISP. Rowand got PH for, Barajas got PH for...both in the middle of an inning...got called back to the dugout.

This is Ruiz's second time this week swinging at the first goddamn pitch after a batter is walked ahead of him. Pitching change and instead of seeing what the new guy had, dude hacks at the first one he sees.

They had a manager before IGY, it was Bowa. And he was run out by the Hoydas.

bowa was manager???...lol...bowa was manuel strategically but he yelled like an idiot...so not only would a player not listen to him cause he didnt know how to manage but they also shut him out cause he was one of the great dickwads of all time...

neitrher bowa nor manuel can be respected and thats the problem...they need a valid mlb manager that can call a game AND hold players accountable...is that difficult to do??...i undertand what youre saying about the players and i agree to a certain extent...but how can you have all eight players play the same way...no matter who comes in...bell or helms...abreu or victorino....lofton or rowand...doesnt matter....its a culture thing more so than an individual player thing at this point

Maybe it's Milt Thompson, he's about the only holdover from the Bowa staff other than Henderson and Billmeyer, correct? And those guys are bullpen coaches.

Bowa yelled and screamed at them, it didn't work. Charlie is a nice guy, who can yell but doesn't do it often enough, and the same shtein is happening.

All I know is it is infuriating as hell.

That's OK. It's fun playing in a hole all year long and it's cool to lose two series to division rivals to start the year and then have to go in and play another divisional opponent next.

At least those other years where they started 1-5, if I remember correctly, weren't all against divisional opponents. 1-5 is bad enough; but to be 1-5 in the division at this point of the year hurts that much more.
