Thought it would be fun to collect the quotes from those whom are worth quoting on Eagles fans.  If you have a good one, post a link and I will add it to the list.

Darren Woodson - Former Dallas Cowboy

Quote"A little bit of everything has happened there," Woodson says. "Snowballs, cans. We've won some games down there and people have tried to spill beer on us and throw drinks on us. I'm not going to miss dodging things, but I'm going to miss that atmosphere. The Philly fans, everybody gets after them as far as them being the nastiest in the NFL. Well, I wish our fans were like that at times. I wish our fans were as feisty and as nasty as they are."

Terry Hoage - former Eagle
Quote
There's nothing like winning in Philadelphia. The fans are awesome. They like to see people do well. It was really a great experience for me and my wife to live in Philly at the time. You were a special guy. You were a Philadelphia Eagle."

Takeo Spikes- Current Eagle

Quote"One of the first things that came out of their mouth was (about) the fans, the intensity that they bring to the game.

"It's almost like modern-day gladiators walking into the stadium.

Michael Strahan - NY Giant

Quote"It's the only place where you pull up on the bus and you've got the grandfather, the grandmother, the grandkids, and the kids flicking you off," New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan says. "In the other stadiums, they kind of wave at you and give you the thumbs down. There, they give you the middle finger. You've got to love it."   "It's a hellhole, but I like it. I've always played well there for some reason. You always hate to leave a place that you play well in. Philly fans are great. Everyone complains about them being the meanest, and that may be true. But at the same time, they're great because it does get you into the game."

Eric Allen - Former Eagle  link

Quote"I have great love for the city of Philadelphia, and the loyal fans. I took pride in going over the Walt Whitman Bridge for practice every day," Allen said. "Those Eagles teams and those fans were like family to me."

"Our fans also got us the key victory in 1992, late in the season versus the taterskins which put us in the playoffs. Last play of the game, Mark Rypien looking to end our season, and our fans erupted in noise. Then I was able to knock down his pass in the end zone to end the game. The place went crazy. I still get chills thinking about that game."

Brian Billick on playing the Eagles: (Oct. 31 at Philadelphia)

QuoteIt's an important game because it's on the schedule. It's kind of a backyard-brawl from the stand-point that Philly is just up the road. Halloween, going into Philadelphia, I don't know how you'd know it's Halloween; I imagine that crowd's going to be the same.

Andre Waters - Former Philadelphia Eagle 08/04/2004

Quote"Philadelphia Eagles fans are the best fans in America," Waters said. "They always treated me very special and they still do today. We knew the 'Vet' would be rocking every time we stepped into that stadium."

I'm waiting to see what Andre Waters has to say about the fans after this season.

This thread is slightly non-hetero, but...
QuoteFor all the civic slurs, for all the unsavory things said of the Philadelphia fans, also say this: They could teach loyalty to a dog. Their capacity for pain is without limit.

From Bill Lyon's article about the Phillies and their quest for 10,000 losses.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

great thread....

"These fans are [always] going to come out fighting," Reid said. "They're going to be loud and aggressive. When we brought Ryan Fowler [a free-agent linebacker from Dallas] in for a visit, I asked him what I always ask guys we bring in: 'Are you sure you can handle Philadelphia?' And he said, 'Hey, what a great place. You drive a bus in [for a game], and it's like no place else. They're throwing eggs at us and everything else. I love that.'

"I get direct feedback from people I talk to. Not that I get into that stuff, but they're cordial. They have a lot of kind words. I think we all want to go to a Super Bowl and win it. We have that in common. Philadelphia's hungry for one of those, as we are as coaches and players. Hopefully, we're going to get that done."
