that article is laughable...

my favorite part is how it's just so easy to get a speed WR in the draft.

bwahahaha

--the offense is automatic for 24 pts a game WITHOUT mcnabb
--he dropped a ryan moats
--what does this even mean? "Hank Baskett and Jason Avant saw enough game action in 2006 to understand the tempo of the NFL"
--jason davis lol
--thomas tapeh as the big back in a single back offense
--dustin fox lol
--jeremy bloom is the "obvious' choice in the punt return game

after all that he has the nerve in the nfl notes section to pretty much destroy every team in the league that has signed a player this offseason......"denver BETTER win the superbowl this year....what is going on out there?"

and i leave you with daves own words from the piece....

Rookie wide receivers are basically locks to fulfill their potential.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Y'know... I'm not one to bash Spads for his articles because I understand it's his job and all that but that article was farging disgusting.

As for the Eagles "ready to go out and score 24 points" - I wish the Pats were content to score 24 ppg the year they went out and signed Corey Dillon (after they had ALREADY won the Super Bowl).  I wish the Colts were content to score 24 ppg when they decided to spend $40 mil to keep Reggie Wayne (even though they already had a HOF in Harrison on the other side).  These are the teams the Eagles like to compare themselves to... yet they still jump at the opportunities to make themselves better when the opportunity is there.

farg scoring 24 points... even if that's true (which there's no way in hell that it is) take care of your good players on offense and score 27-30 ppg.  I'm so farging tired of this team being happy where it is.  They haven't won shtein and they need to improve wherever they can.  To see them be so carefree with Stallworth dangling out there is sickening.

Quit farging around and get this motherfarger back on the team.

sure, the Eagles can go out and score 24 points, and they can give up 28

Sure. Freddie did. So did Pinkston.

They sure did fulfill their potential... their potential to be 2 of the worst picks that Andy has made on the offensive side of the ball.

I forget who raised the idea first..FF?..but I really wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles brought Pinkston back.  Only reason I can see they wouldn't is if he's still pressing his grievance about being traded while still injured, or whatever it was.  I can already hear Reid saying that Pink has had a lot of time to heal, has been working out for months and is already in football shape, etc.

its pretty farging ballsy to say without hesitation that the eagles will score 24  a game without even thinking about it with aj feely as your qb and 27-30 if mcnabb is the qb

the eagles high with mcnabb is 25 pts one time and every other year was under 24

27-30 is peyton manning colts numbers

Oh yeah... I didn't mean 27-30 literally.

My point being is that you should be looking to maximize your ppg by utilitizing good offensive players... especially when you have one sitting right up under your nose and begging to stay on the team.

Don't be content with your "imaginary" 24 ppg...

I don't bother myself with what Spadaro spews because it's his job. It's fine he wants to paint the rosiest picture he can... I do worry when I think he's in part repeating what Reid/Heckert have told him. If he believes this stuff, fine. If they believe it... I'm worried.

It seems even more possible now than when I first said it, but yeah... that was me.

hugh douglas is in for gargano today and got michael lewis to call in and give his version of what went down last year....among the lowlights

--signed with sf because they had a lot of money to give but also because a college coach of his who he really likes is there

--still cant believe he was 'benched for one play'

--the week before the new orleans game he was told by jj that he was having an excellent year and doing everything they wanted

--knew it was over when the eagles offered him an extension last fall and he declined...banner and reid proceeded to tell them (him and his agent) how dissapointed they were (two weeks later came the benching) ...right then and there he knew it was over

--EVERYONE gets burned in the nfl

--after the benching could never get a sit down with reid or jj only with his position coach who didnt have a an explanation why considine was in and he was out

--dawk and trotter strongly disagreed with the benching but didnt say anything to the coaches but helped lewis thru what was a difficult time

--once he woudlnt sign he knew they wanted to see what they had in considine

--still cant believe he was told by the team that he coulndt play anymore...but never lost confidence and vows to make the pro bowl again this year

--sf contract was for more money than the eagles ever offered at anytime

--has no hard feelings as the eagles gave him a chance when others were worried about his heart condition and he wont ever forget that
