The BIGSTUD

Anyone else thinking that the Bears traded up in the second to grab Stanton?
Calling it right on the $ since day one.

Seattle doesn't seem to have a problem breaking the bank on defense, especially with guys with injury concerns.  First Julian Petersen last year and now Kerney.

Still, that's a ton of money for Kerney.   Good for him.

Spadaro's article specifically mentions the following people:

Daniel Graham, TE
Cato June, LB
Donte' Stallworth, WR
Correll Buckhalter, RB
Ken Hamlin, S
Robaire Smith, DT

Can you feel the excitement?

If the Eagles were to walk away with these guys, I'd be a very happy little Eagles fan.

- We all know the deal with Donte.
- Hamlin has the tools to get it done with usrus stopper by trade, but not clueless in coverage... and he will make sure that Considine remains the ST player he was meant to be.
- Like Phreak, I wanted Smith back when he signed with the Texans.  He's a run stopper who will push either Walker or Rayburn off the bottom of the depth chart, helping to raise the overall quality at the position.

I know I'm just dreamin' here, but still....

Another day. Another nothing. Another drink of depression.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Apparently, Schefter mentioned that the Eagles are interested in the great white hope of Kevin Curtis, who coincidentally wants to be paid like Drew Bennett.  He's fired his agent and is visiting the Giants today.  Looks like there's a better chance of the Eagles re-signing Stallworth than getting Curtis.  Of course, "better" only means about 5% instead of 2%.

Also, Corey Dillon is theoretically down to the Ravens and the Eagles, and there's word the Ravens would prefer to bring back Jamal Lewis.  We'll see.

Rod Hood and William James are as good as gone.  Dhani's still on the team.  Currently, Sean Considine is slated to start at safety and Joselio Hanson will be the nickel back.  L.J.'s in the last year of his contract, and either Hank Baskett or Greg Lewis is penciled to start across from Reggie Brown.  Brian Westbrook is the only tailback on the team, which doesn't select until #26 and doesn't have a 4th round pick this year.

They can't possibly stand pat much longer.  Can they?  ??  ?  :boo  :boom

Dave's response when asked *when* the Eagles would get involved in free agency:
QuoteBefore the draft ... and maybe after the draft. This is going to be a crazy, crazy, crazy off-season.

An amusing comment left in the same thread:
Quote2007 Off-season - extended A.J. Feeley, re-signed Quintin Mikell and Juqua Thomas
2005 Off-season - didn't cut T.O. before the season began. Picked up Mike McMahon.

So far the 2007 off-season is winning.

Comcast SportsRise: The Eagles have made an offer to Donte Stallworth and Correll Buckhalter. Also made an offer to Rod Hood towards the end of the season that would have made him one of the highest nickle CB's in the league, but he's looking for starters money. If another team isn't willing to give him that, we may just see him back here next year.

Hopefully Stallworth doesn't get any great and/or multi-year deals out of the teams he's supposed to be visiting. I would think he'd take a multi-year deal with the Eagles over a 1 year deal somewhere else (besides maybe the Pats)....right?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Tell me about it.  If Eagles were a woman, I'd have dumped them a long time ago.

out of all FF posted you highlite that westbrook is the only tailback on the team?

what about these?

1. Sean Considine is slated to start at safety
2. Joselio Hanson will be the nickel back
3. Hank Baskett or Greg Lewis is penciled to start across from Reggie Brown
4. Dhani's still on the team

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

I'm not a huge fan of any of that either, but my personal crusade against this team over-working the fragile wittle Westbrook leads me to highlight the fact that he is the only viable tailback on the team.

BTW, is Ryan Moats still alive?
