Little interest in Buckhalter and Stallworth

Mostly more of the same.....

Market Quiet For Buckhalter

Free agent RB Correll Buckhalter could visit the Denver Broncos soon but has yet to set up a visit. Buckhalter is seen as a decent backup for an established starter.

The oft-injured back is coming off his first season in which he played in all 16 games. Buckhalter missed the 2004 and 2005 seasons due to injury.

Stallworth Not Attracting Attention?

As scout.com pointed out earlier this week, league sources indicated that free agent WR Donte' Stallworth might not get signed in the early part of free agency because there's a belief that he wants too much money in signing bonus dollars ($10-$12 million). Sources believe the bonus money will come in much lower ($6-$8 million on a multi-year deal) based on his injury history but as the story goes, it only takes one team to over pay.

As noted previously, Stallworth, when healthy last season, was very productive but hamstring problems limited him to 12 games.

But because there teams with serious wide receiver issues (San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings, and Tennessee Titans), the market for the six-year veteran could start to heat up.

San Fran will probably look through the draft
Titans will be apprhensive to pay after their previous cap problems and fact that Vince Young is insane
Vikings are run by morons who cannot evaluate talent

optimism!!
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Dork is Nolan's bitch. Period.  That's how it went down from the first interview. He straight up set these conditions right away and was more than ready to walk if he didnt have them. He's got full control,  final veto power over all personnel decisions and a truckload of blank checks. He's also rebuilt the front office by himself. Not to mention taking over the defense as DC midway thru last season.

He's worked for Snyder and knows what not to do.  His philosophy from day 1 is to build thru the draft and supplement via free agency. The previous FO farged us with Snyderesque contracts that we had to dump to finally, after the last 2 years, become players in the FA market.

Sure the contracts sound ridiculous at face value but theyre well constructed in a way that we wont take signifigant caps hits if your not holding your weight. For example, Antonio Bryant was given a big contract last year but we released him recently with a meager 800k hit. Clements got the big money w/ 22 mill bonus/80 mil contract but 36 mill of that is in his last 2 years. Its also an 8 year contract. But we are still paying like 7-8 mill a year for him.
