Daaaaaaaaaaaamn!  Nate Clements is a fine player but to make him the highest paid defensive player ever is a bit rediculous.  Even if it is cap friendly (no offense Truck).

Skins sign Fletch for 5 years 25 mil.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

That sucks. He's a monster and I'm pissed the Eagles will have to play him twice a year.

That depends.....

Ever since you found out he was signed, have you spent your time constructing a long winded letter addressed to 49ers ownership expressing your love for them and the 49ers organization and how you are confident that they will bring a championship back to San Fran despite foolish (over)spending?  Have you created a gigantic sig with an image of Nate Clements in a 9ers uniform and put lightning bolts in the background along with some corny "catch phrase" like "Striking Fear in the Hearts of Quarterbacks."  Have you masturbated to a picture of Mike Nolan?

If you answered no to all of the above then you do not, infact, feel like a taterskins fan.

Yeah... third most tackles in the NFL, more interceptions than any other linebacker, more passes defended than any other linebacker... he's totally done.

Thats the talk of someone who didn't watch much Bills football in 2006.

The Raiders and Garcia have broken off talks.

Lewis' deal with SF is 6 yrs, he'll start at SS, and they're planning to use him in dime coverage.  ha!

The BIGSTUD

Oh, and wasn't Simoneau like top 5 in tackles back in 03? I think he was and we all know what that means. Stats don't say the whole story. Fletcher is still a solid NFL LB, but not the monster that he was. The Bills defensive line played pretty damn good last year and gave lots of help to the linebackers.

eh, Adalius Thomas was never in the mix for the Eagles anyways. Would have been great if the Eagles did make a push for him. But, of course, the LBs don't need any work.

The 49ers are just throwing around money. Clements was a good pickup, but I'd like to see how that signing bonus plays out. Mike Lewis could be a good fit there if he plays on Clements side and they man-up a lot allowing Lewis to play closer to the Line of Scrimmage.

This is going to be a boring off-season. I checked the Eagles site today too and Spads was hyping all the draft picks the Eagles will have next year if/when they lose Stallworth, Garcia, Lewis (gone), and Hood. Wonderful. A bunch of 2nd day compensatory picks... hardly something to get excited about.

hardly something to get excited about is right, and depending on how this offseason goes, next season could wind up the same way. Not something to get excited about.
