With each new class, we get an increasingly coddled and refined athlete. Dudes who more and more, didn't have to actually do a thing other than play, work out, eat the nutritionist prescribed diet, practice, perform the doctor supervised injury rehab, etc.

They'd be stupid not to take Johnson. I'm not even that big a fan of Russell. Calvin is a stud.

How would they be stupid exactly? They cut Brooks, who sucks beyond reason, but still. Walters? Jesus Christ, do they need a QB in the worst way. Just like the Birds not drafting Ricky Williams, you don't build a franchise around a WR. Figure out who's the best QB in the draft and take him. The Raiders don't have a tough decision here. The Lions do. Do you let Johnson go to draft a QB of the future, or trust Kitna for one more year?

because both quinn and russell could easily be busts...its a total crap shoot with qb's

whereas johnson is insane and at worst is going to be a good #1 wr and has a good chance to be the best wr in the nfl

Don't matter what Johnson can do if A) the QB outright SUCKS! and B) the OL outright SUCKS! (like in OAK) unless they plan on direct snapping to Johnson on every play. C'mon, I agree that none of the QBs look like a lock, and FA ain't gonna be too helpful, but they need a signal caller in the worst way. Not another prima donna receiver.

im not saying they should be killed if they take a qb...im more playing devils advocate...altho i persoanlly would take cj as hes the best wr i can ever remember coming out of college

Gallery has been awful, Grove supposedly has been decent.
