The law firm Andy hired is a heavy in town, I gather.

It must really be tough on the kids having the best money can buy.

I don't blame Andy for securing the best available legal representation for his kids.

It's probably the most parent-like act he's done in his kids' lives.

I do.  He's condoning what they've done by paying for the big guns.

He ought to let them pay for their own legal representation, or suffer along with public representation if that's the best they can do.

I don't know what that means.   It's not a foregone conclusion that because you are wealthy of course you'll pay to get your kids out of trouble with the law.

It's not - but if you didn't have the means to easily procure a good lawyer, it's a lot easier to justify the *tough-love* method to yourself and others.

Fair enough.  And when you do have the money, a lot harder to do the right thing.

In this case, it's further proof that Reid is in way over his head with this whole parenting thing.  Kinda like this whole coaching thing.
